Two more reports regarding the Kobe Bryant case circulating among part of the national media were debunked Monday.
Media reports that the 19-year-old woman who Bryant allegedly assaulted received a ride home is not the case, sources said Monday. Reports that her clothing was torn are also untrue, sources also.
Sources told the Daily that the alleged victim managed to get herself home by 11:50 p.m., June 30, after ending the shift at the Lodge at Cordillera at around 11:10 p.m.
They also said that while her clothing was disheveled and showed signs that something had occurred, it wasn't torn or ripped, as some reports indicated.
"Some of the reports made it sound like something out of a bad movie," said one source. "It wasn't like that."
The reports are part of a larger set of rumors and gossip that have been circulating across the country about the case. Among them:
- That the alleged victim was in the room two hours. It was only about 20 minutes.
- When she came down, she was hysterical. She was not. Sources said she was in a stupor and a state of shock.
- A few days before the incident, the alleged victim had accused another hotel worker of sexual harassment, getting him fired. Not true, said the man who was terminated. It was not the alleged victim.
Cameras in court
Eagle County Judge Fred Gannett ruled that not only is Bryant required to appear at 4 p.m. Wednesday, he also ruled Monday that there will be cameras in the courtroom.
Gannett denied a motion by Bryant's attorneys asking Gannett to reconsider an earlier order allowing one video camera and one still camera in the courtroom while Bryant is advised of the charges against him, and also advised of his rights.
Well, I wanted the position of Thread A$$HOLE, but you had that one already locked up.
I never said you were rude, nor did I call you names.
But you're a "KB is guilty" poster, and don't pretend to be otherwise.
Impartial observers? LOL Howlin asked nyconse earlier how she will feel when it's found the girl is lying. You call that impartial? You call posting that the girl may have made this up impartial? You think Iwo Jima is impartial? LOL And you never debate the Kobe supporters, so you're not impartial either.
The Westerfield effect requires that an "us-vs-them" mentality be maintained at all times, and you're fostering that here.
Earlier you said it was emotionalism. I guess Howlin took that out of your arsenal when she personally attacked nyconse. lol
The UNC incident supposedly happened in February so that would make it at least four months. If you are going to continually harangue about other people who lie about the facts, the least you could do is keep your own facts straight.
Oh, nothing much; just her entire outlook on life and how she perceives things that happen around her -- and how she reacts to situations she finds herself in.
For instance, we now know that when her boy friend breaks up with her and starts dating somebody else, her reaction is to try to kill herself; twice.
Smogger and Howlin are wired, I don't think nyconse is. You are too when you assumed people are going to leave the forum. That was pretty rude.
That proves how biased YOU are; she asked me first how I would feel if the trial proves him guilty.
See, you don't SEE the other side or even acknowledge it.
Better than being acute.
As if that makes a big damn deal. The end of February to the end of May IS 3 months.
How many times have YOU tried to kill yourself in the last FOUR MONTHS????????
Hey sinkspur, who'd you say was wired? lol
He never said LEAVE the forum; he said LEAVE these threads. You all aren't that important.
Actually, I believe people just stopped posting on these threads because they got tired of you all asking the same questions over and over and -- even when given an answer -- asking it again.
I'm sure you'd all be pleased if nobody came on these threads to point out any statement, even the rumors, that MIGHT shine some light on this case that doesn't trash Kobe Bryant. Then you could all just sit around and talk about how moral you all are and especially how non- judgmental and fair you are.
You think he's guilty also, you said so. Why are you attacking others who think he's guilty?
Well, that's an understatement!
You said "when", not "if". That's not impartial.
All because you say so? What about the mental state of murder victims? If they tried to kill themselves 30 days before, were they just making up being murder? Or maybe they were "asking for it".
I can see myconse is not the only person on this thread that cannot answer a point-blank question.
