Two more reports regarding the Kobe Bryant case circulating among part of the national media were debunked Monday.
Media reports that the 19-year-old woman who Bryant allegedly assaulted received a ride home is not the case, sources said Monday. Reports that her clothing was torn are also untrue, sources also.
Sources told the Daily that the alleged victim managed to get herself home by 11:50 p.m., June 30, after ending the shift at the Lodge at Cordillera at around 11:10 p.m.
They also said that while her clothing was disheveled and showed signs that something had occurred, it wasn't torn or ripped, as some reports indicated.
"Some of the reports made it sound like something out of a bad movie," said one source. "It wasn't like that."
The reports are part of a larger set of rumors and gossip that have been circulating across the country about the case. Among them:
- That the alleged victim was in the room two hours. It was only about 20 minutes.
- When she came down, she was hysterical. She was not. Sources said she was in a stupor and a state of shock.
- A few days before the incident, the alleged victim had accused another hotel worker of sexual harassment, getting him fired. Not true, said the man who was terminated. It was not the alleged victim.
Cameras in court
Eagle County Judge Fred Gannett ruled that not only is Bryant required to appear at 4 p.m. Wednesday, he also ruled Monday that there will be cameras in the courtroom.
Gannett denied a motion by Bryant's attorneys asking Gannett to reconsider an earlier order allowing one video camera and one still camera in the courtroom while Bryant is advised of the charges against him, and also advised of his rights.

Good article. I still say that it bears watching if Bryant has control issues. Uday could have any woman he wanted yet he preferred rape. Control.

But if there is evidence as to all three (attended the party and said these things, attended the party and did not say these things, and did not attend the party), then it all comes in and the jury (I predict) says to heck with it, we're not sending anyone to prison on screwed up testimony like this. The muddier the water, the better for the defense because the prosecution has the burden of proof. From what I have read the alleged response regarding Kobe's anatomy resulted from direct questions. The defense will have fun introducing these witnesses and their specific questions of the victim. The victim can deny she answered, other people at the party can deny she said that. You are not left with a muddy mess, you are left with a defense witness who allegedly asked crude questions of the victim. It seems to me that only illicits sympathy for the accuser.

Two more reports regarding the Kobe Bryant case circulating among part of the national media were debunked Monday. "Rumors" that were stated as FACT by Rita Cosby Saturday night during her show during a FOX NEWS ALERT.......she breathlessly reported those two facts, couldn't get it on the air quicky enough.
She is such a fool. Anybody who believes another word she says is a fool.

The Supreme court document was very difficult. Several stations I watch were not sure what was what. Granted she should have not spoken until she was sure, but that was three years ago. She has been correct since as far as I know.

"sources?"-why should I believe these more than what Rita reported? She supposedly got it from a witness (bellboy). Also, dishelved, stupor?-still doesn't look good for Kobe. I don't see how this bolsters Kobe's case at all. I guess it's going to have to be the race card-doesn't look like the Kobe team has much else. Tell me again how I'm only interested in anything that defends Kobe Bryant...........ROFLMAO.

The article does not change the fact that the girl was upset whether her clothes were in disarray or torn-no difference. Stupor?-not helpful to Kobe. Show me some evidence that supports Kobe, and I will change my mind in a New York second-haven't seen any so far. Also, I don't see why Rita is less credible than un-named sources. Hannity seemed to think the evidence presented by Rita was credible: said so on his show.

I disagree that the scenario which you speak of would elicit any sympathy for the accuser. As a juror, I would have no sympathy for such a person. If she is responsible enough to have a person sent to prison on her testimony, then she cannot be so befuddled that she responds to such a question simply because she was asked.
According to Evancho, this topic came up after she was bragging about the incident. It matters not one whit to me that a "defense witness" (which of course he only became because he has information adverse to the prosecution)asked "crude questions." It is the answers that matter, and these answers were worse than crude. They are credibility-destroying.

Your post is disingenuous at best.
That post was on MONDAY, when, in fact, Rita Cosby -- who IS the one who said that the clothes were TORN and that he gave her a RIDE home -- made her big announcement at 10 PM EDT last Saturday night. And she did say that the girl DISCUSSED it with the bellman on the way home.
Obviously the story had been cleaned up by the time that article you posted was posted.

Your post is disingenuous at best. It is not.
The ESPN report is independent and shows the bellhop testimony is most likely going to be heard, while Smogger seemed to think the bellhop story had been totally discredited.
I certainly was not attempting to defend Cosby, as you seem to think.

if a witness is lying, that is beyond her control. It is her JOB to verify the things she reports are FACTS.

Randy Wyrick's report on Monday's Today show wasn't based on Rita's report.
The ESPN article wasn't based on Rita's report.

She has been correct since as far as I know. She was incorrect last Saturday night at 10 P.M. EDT.
