I am not a practicing attorney, nor have I ever taken the bar, but I am a member. When I ran for state Senate, my candidacy was announced by US Congressman Mike Rogers at the Detroit Federalist Society meeting. I don't think you have to be an attorney to be a member, they asked me to join and they know that I am not an attorney, but I do have a legal background. Contact your local chapter. It's one of my most favorite groups. We have fascinating meetings and I make great connections. We always have a congressman or senator at our meetings, not to mention almost all of the State Sumpreme Court Justices. They are good people to know.
