he sounds so cute, how big is he??? can't wait to see pix when you get them. i just got back a roll of film that xsbrownie took from the disposable camera i bought when we went to get xs2pup. i have a great pic of xskids with the breeder and the pup. and there is a cute one of xs2pup standing on the arm of the couch in the living room. the rest of the roll, taken by xsbrownie, contain various parts of xs2pup's anatomy and many shots of her TOY ANIMALS....

that southwest/hunting lodge looks sounds gorgeous and perfect for where you live. i have a good friend who is from TX that lives here and she has that sort of motif and i love it.
we have a center hall colonial, i think is what you would call it, it has a curved staircase in the front foyer which is open to the second floor. The living room is modified Williamsburg. Generally i go for more tailored but i have austrian shades in there bc i didn't know what else to do with the palladian window in there.

We are having real problems with irises here in MidTN this season. Spring was very wet and lots of them rotted. I'm trying to salvage a bunch of them but it may be a losing battle and time to shop the catalogues for some new varieties. It's our state flower.

I guess I haven't been in a rainy area long enough to see an iris rot. Sheesh. I've never had anything but luck with them, with the exception of my first year here. They were burned to death. Now I have a new spot for them.

My niece (3+ a little bit) just went fishing with her dad...
" K has seen my fishing poles, and wanted to go fishing. Last month, I decided to give it a try. We cut a tree limb and tied some line to it. Then we added a bobber and the smallest hook I could find. While mommy was at school, K and I went to a pond here in town. I put a small piece of bread on the hook, and helped her swing it out to the water. It didn't take long and she was getting some nibbles, then the bobber went under, and I told her to pull in the fish. She started to pull it, and it pulled back. She was surprised, and it looked like she might let go so I went to help. It was then that I realized, this was no three inch sunfish like I had expected. I helped her with it, and she soon understood what to do, so I let go and let her finish the job. She dragged a catfish out of the water. We took some pictures, and she wanted to touch it, so I let her. Then we put the fish back in the pond. I told her it was a "catfish".
After catching a small sunfish, harassment by some ducks, and K eating all the bread, we went home. Later that day, K told (her mommy) she had caught "a catfish and a dogfish".
