The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

LOL!
Reminds me of the girl on Joe Millionaire that told Evan she'd love to go and help the starving children because she has a "mercenary's heart". LOLOLOL!

That reminds me of the movie Miss Congeniality (Sandra Bullock)...
Bullock plays a rough and tough female cop from a big city (I forget which one, NY or Chicago) and she is put on assignment to go undercover as a beaty contest participant, whole thing rigged so she is among the final five, and she has to track down the source of assignation attempts. She is not at all happy about this, making a snide comment about being "a Gracey-Lou Freebush who talks of world peace."...and soem of her criticism bears out in the Q&A sessions that ask "what is the one thing you wish for?" and each and ever contestant answers "world peace" and there is NO deviation from that.
Not that Bullock's character doesnt try...her first response is "I wish for harsher penalties for parole violaters..." then there is silence in the audience...one can hear the crickets chirping...she adds "...and WORLD PEACE."
APPLAUSE erupts.
But that doesnt top what the answer another contestant gives to the question "what do you consider your ideal date?"
and the poor girl answers "April 25th...not too warm, and not too cold."

But no one here is older than 29 anyway...right gang!? My birthday is this thursday. I have one more year until I reach and hold fast at Jack Benny's age.
Propriety dictates I won't state that age at this time.

I love Sandra Bullock movies..."Hope Floats" is among my favorite...doesnt have the best script in the world, but it was filmed and set in Smithville, and I have personal memories of that town...I think they even used the Catholic church where I sang with the MY church's folk group. Our 'fearless leader's' brother was a priest there.

Maybe I'll check that one out. I've liked most anything I've seen Sandra Bullock in.
