Heh. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. It is a gorgeous night tonight. And I've been enjoying sitting out in my yard soaking it all up.

Same here. Sat on the deck for a while moon-gazing. I think I saw Mars too.
To: ecurbh
I was thinking Mars too. Fairly close to the moon?
There was a nice breeze blowing here also until just before I posted. Breeze left and mosquitos showed up.
If I were at the old place tonight I'd be sleeping outside!

Pretty sure it was Mars. Right now its the closest to Earth that it has been in thousands of years.
To: ecurbh
I had heard those reports about Mars. Have been thinking since I listened that I would look for it when I was home and can really see stars. But, I forgot last weekend.
I was going to do it when I go home for the Frodo photos. But, tonight I went out to move the water on my tomatoes and the night was too spectacular to come back inside. So, I was pretty sure that was Mars that was there. I can see few other stars here - well, without my glasses anyway.
Hopefully, it will be as good as this the rest of the week so I can enjoy it in a better location.

That's one thing I miss living in the city - stargazing.
Well, I'm going to try and get some sleep again. Good night!

Goodnight ecurbh
Sweet dreams.
I think I'm going to go back outside and see if the breeze is back.

Frodo left Big Sky this afternoon, on his way to you. The lady said you should have him by the 14th. I went ahead and shipped him Express Mail, too so he'd be sure to get there on time.
We had great fun taking pics at Yellowstone. Our #1 son, Paul, had a lot of fun thinking of great backdrops for pictures and held on to Frodo to keep him from blowing away, which was a very serious concern! Clare was nervous that he'd go flying into the Great Prismatic Spring which is a giant kettle of hot water and bacteria.
We're gonna go the the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone tomorrow. The picture on the brochure is stunning; I can only imagine what it's gonna look like!

I'll probably have to wait until we get back home on the 20th to send in my Frodo report. We're on dial-up here, and I'm afraid doing the photos will be too much for the computer.
We'll be back home a week from tomorrow.

Good morning!
Just finished my leftover-pizza-for-breakfast breakfast *polite burp* and will be getting back to my report, soon. May have to re-write a section. Argh, I just want to get it off my desk and out the door!
Cheers!

Good morning!
I'm hoping my day gets better. It's been interesting so far. Took Fiona for her walk and she barked at everything that moved (or didn't!) and no amount of scolding or coaxing seemed to quiet her. Then my hair dryer overheated and quit, so I'm havin' a bad hair day. And I put my shirt on inside out and almost didn't notice it before heading out. That would have been good.

*hugs for a good day*

Heh...I've had to read that book a time or two to younger siblings.
It's not really a BAD day...just a confused one!

There WAS a full moon last night...

Does that explain the dog acting nuts, if nothing else? Maybe?
I was starting to feel like strangling her! Little beast!

You know, tonight is the Perseids meteor display. Always an enjoyable evening for me, but tonight there's a full moon. Won't be able to see much else I guess.

Thanks for the heads up Suzi! It sounds like you're having a wonderful vacation. :-) I would like to go to Yellowstone again someday. It's one of the most beautiful places isn't it?

Aren't you glad you figured out about your shirt though? Don't you just hate it when you get somewhere and then find out your shirt is on wrong side out and backward?
Hope things have improved already.
