What is the best tasting beer?

Posted on 07/27/2003 1:20:57 PM PDT by zoen

Im partial to Henry Weinhard's from OR living in the Northwest for the regular stock. But for the best I would have to say it would be Bitburger. And Guinness is in its own place amonst the gods of tasty brews from the tap.

:o)

Moosehead. It tastes like water that has been inside an old tire in the hot sun for a few years. Yum!

This is a subject better left for the first sermon from the Church of Beer...

And the decision is....Just damn.

HMB/Bizarre PING....

If you want on or off this list, FReepmail me!

FYI: This has fast outgrown it's original "charter" and become a home for the truly bizarre. An alternative saying/phrasiology is being sought (and suggestions are very welcome!). Also, like it's "cousin list" the B/C list, it has become a high-volume list.

I'm leaning toward "Just damn," on the suggestion of quite a few folks. I won't make a decision until Sunday. (And thanks to all of you for sending your suggestions!)

I know you will think I am absolutely insane when you read this, but Korean Budweiser is THE best beer in the world. I spent a year at Osan AB, and I developed quite a taste for that particular brew. What I wouldn't do to have a contact there who would send me a case.

Bass Ale. And Quilmes from Argentina which is very hard to find around here.

St. Arnold's (from a local brewery) is pretty good too.

I was really hooked on yeast beer (various brands) from Bavaria and also Fischer from Alsace. Now that I refuse to buy anything from Germany or France, I'm still looking (and tasting) for a favorite.

If you're still looking, and can find it in your neck of the woods, try Chimay (it's made by Belgian monks). The damn Georgia distributors have conspired with the legislature to make it illegal to import the stuff here...[feh]

The warm, stale, flat, overpriced kind we used to get at the Astrodome that tasted kind of like horse pee.

Gee, I miss that stuff. (NOT!)

Old Scrote Bitter

LOL! Sounds lovely g'nad....

Ramius's first round of dark beer was described as tasting like 'burnt electrical wiring'.... It was a spot-on description!

I'll have whichever of your beers makes my butt look smaller ;~D
