Thanks to the Admin. Moderator for editing the Title of this Thread.
When Posting an article, apparently the use of HTML codes are NOT allowed in the "Title of Thread"
A little warning note would be nice.

Government, Industry Experts Anxious Over Possible  INTERNET  ATTACK
[Target:  Microsoft Windows]

PATCH Available from MS Web site! - here-
SEE Advice Below (re: Post #3 - by NotQuiteCricket - BACK - UP Your Files   FIRST !
MS Web site = http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

- Article Excerpts: -
Experts said an attack could be launched within days, weeks or months.

Experts are advising computer users with renewed urgency to apply a free repairing patch that Microsoft has offered on its Web site since July 16, when it acknowledged that the flaw affected nearly all versions of its flagship Windows operating system software.

APPLYING Microsoft's repairing PATCH Takes A FEW MOMENTS For HOME USERS. But it is a more daunting challenge for large corporations...

"It is a little early, the exploit [possible attack] needs to be perfected [by the hackers]. The effort applied to the exploit is certainly increased, but we're not sure if that's indicative of when we might see a widespread threat. People certainly need to be aware of this."

FBI spokesman Bill Murray said, "We implore the private sector -- both business and home users -- to visit the Microsoft Web site and install the patches and mitigations necessary to prevent this from creating a negative effect on the Internet as a whole"

On Article Thread, - SEE POST #3 - by NotQuiteCricket =
IF YOU LIKE YOUR DATA (any files on you computer) BACK IT UP!!   - Prior - to doing any updates. Also, make sure that you know your passwords / user names for sites that you go to (in case something bad happens). THAT is the reason Network administrators take so long to apply service packs, ...

MS Patch is at following LINK:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
There should be a link there that says "Scan for Updates". Click on that link, and then apply the patches that show up. Do the critical ones first. - # 3 posted by NotQuiteCricket

solves all of those nasty MS issues.
redhat = Linux   During this (Gov.) recall, I'm reluctant to mess with reloading my hard drive. Although, I am very interested in 'alternatives' in the future.
Thanks for the link!

The picture on the right of the girl with the flag is just fine. The one on the left only shows me the dreaded red-x-in-the-box. When I get its URL after right-clicking for properties, it is for a Yahoo page that says " Yahoo! - Document Not Found " Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks, CompCent!
