Ok I need some computer help and since FReepers are the smartest people I know.... (/shameless flattery)
I recently installed Windows XP Home edition for my parents. They have a Dell Inspiron 8000.
Here is the problem. The desktop shrinks without reason. It loaded up fine. Was the right size for two days and then shrank down to about a third of its normal size in the middle of the screen.
I fixed it from the control panel but the next time I came over the same thing had happened. What is going on and how do I make it stop? They will be leaving in a few weeks and I will not be able to drop by to fix it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try here for help with xp. I have used xp for seven months on my laptop and haven't had any problems. I find it a pretty stable platform.

Thanks. I have tried some of their suggestions and downloaded a bunch of stuff last time it happened. The platform itself is very stable and they like it. It is just that the desktop shrinks!
I am trying to figure out what could be causing it. It has never happened to me while I am using it so I am wondering if it is something that they are doing without knowing it.
