The garden is going well, considering we got a late start on it. It's been hot, so I can almost see the cucumbers growing. The peppers, however, look terrible. I'm going to have the front "yard" landscaped soon, probably in the next couple of weeks. My husband and I have removed the overgrown shrubs that were around the perimeter of the back yard and disposed of them. It took several weeks, but they're ALL gone. They looked horrible. It would have cost a fortune to have someone else do it. The house is coming along a little more slowly, since we've been concentrating on the yard. We did get oak floors installed in the master bedroom, and a nice overhead fan and light installed there as well. Next up: new flooring and fixtures in the master bathroom. Whew!

Wow, you have been busy. I have had trouble with growing peppers myself. They never seem to grow like the other vegies I've tried.

Pulling shrubs in 100+ degree weather must have been a killer ... heck just sitting in 100+ degrees is a killer. But I'm sure it will great with the landscaping done.

The floors in the bedroom sound lovely. I do like the look of them plus I'm sure they are easier to clean then rugs. I put them in the kitchen, they only down part is when the kiddies go running through the house, the dog can't get up fast enough to run out of their way.

Well speaking of kiddies .. I need to stop ignoring them. I'll BBL

Hardwood floors are a bitch to keep up over time...The ones in this house are all covered with carpet...A lot easier to take care of...IMHO

Been really busy..two of the hubby's grandsons arrived on Sunday. They are 13 and 14. Nice kids. But one has ADD and in the summer he goes off his meds for a break...and I am having a Menier's attack and the two are a very bad mix. They left with Gramps yesterday for a week of gold prospecting up north..Gramps is taking them to Sutter's Fort and Sutter's Mill and Hangtown and all sorts of other historic golding places. They will have lots of fun doing this guy thing. And the kids will have great memories with their grandpa...they keep him young. But if anyone has ever had Meniere's...the noise is a killer. After the first 4 days yesterday I nearly passed away from sheer exhaustion. I am a bit better today...not so tired but the Menieire is still holding on..this makes week 3 with it. So the cats and I are taking it easy and not pushing too hard..Well I never knew a cat that worked too hard at anything but sunning themselves, eating and well you know...

Been trying to get the threads caught up..some of you can sure post wonderful pictures....

Have you all seen the pictures of the Hussien brothers? What a site...good they are dead..now to get the old man and actually I wish they would get the whole lot..cousins etc..got to get the whole snake nest before the people of Iraq will really feel they can breathe easily.

The cats are plotting to take over once they've recharged their batteries using inefficient solar power. Fortunately for us, their solar cells are very inefficient.

Yep, moving to Cedar Park (NW of Austin) on August 7. My kids do NOT want to move. It is dramatic around here. I drove them to the apartments today - had to trick them to get them into the car. They are still angry with me, and of course, even though the place is really really nice, they only have complaints.
I know I am doing the right thing by getting them out of Waco and Waco High School and away from their pothead loser friends. But man, doing the right thing is not easy.
Pray for us.
