Her Problem is easy to see.
She has Money, Prestige, Accolades, and Perks, but, She was too liberated to marry a Slightly Older highly successful type of man, thinking she deserved ...a movie star...that didn't pan out..So, lacking the long term appreciation of being appreciated by someone that displays some manner of virility, be it by virtue of success, power, physicality, fatherhood, whatever.. as spinsterhood approaches she spends all her time around Girly men, who want sex, but cant provide it adequately.....Instead of looking for the reason that she is dissatisfied she assumes it is because men are dissatisfying, not that she is just browsing the wrong brand...
(It is, in fact the sexual/romantic version of that old line
attributed to the New Yorkers Pauline Kael, who supposedly remarked, in all
sincerity, "I dont understand how Nixon won; I dont know a soul who voted for him.")
Odd isn't it, the dual examples of parochialism practiced in the most diverse city on the planet...?

always kinda ticks me off that the guy who dreamed up the idea of The Arch is better remembered than the brilliant engineers who figured out how to actually make the damn thing.
But damn it is one beautiful thing.

Ironically enough I do pity her. She is obviously an Unhappy person, and she need not be.
Whatever F*d up Woody Allen to make him unhappy happened in his past, and cannot be reconciled, but her unhappiness stems largely from a lack of introspection, and adherence to the facade of liberation....(She will only go out with Alist types, if she were TRULY liberated she would get a boytoy or a househusband......)

Oscar's cool too - I like surely kids' characters. I don't know what Slimy is though.
To: xsmommy
Because even what she sees as a boytoy, would in the end turn out to be a FLB....(she would end up with one of the guys from NSYNC trying to play for our team..)
