Bogarts Sam Spade was far more Real man than Connerys Bond...(and I was a Big Bond Fan pre RogerMoore...Ian Flemings Character is just too soft, in the same vein, Ludlums Bourne is far cooler, and it irked the crap out of me when they cast Matt Damon in that role.)
And as For Paul Newman the one thing he did that comapres favorably to the Great One, is SlapShot....
