**** FR Big Brother 4 Thread ****

It's summer once again, which means it is time for what many dub "the ultimate reality show", Big Brother! For 3 months, 13 contestants, or "houseguests" must live together in a one-story house with absolutely NO contact from the outside world, while cameras and microphones capture their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, one houseguest is voted out with the sole remaining houseguest taking home half a million dollars.

This year, the producers have introduced the "X-Factor" to Big Brother. 10 of the 13 houseguests were stunned to find out that an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend of theirs was also a houseguest.

I have once again given up any hope of having a life this summer and have shelled out the $10 a month to watch the houseguests 24 hours a day on the internet.

Let's meet this years crop of contestants...

Alison

Job: Retail Manager
Age: 22
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Pittsburgh, PA
Jeff's Comments: Alison, while seeming sweet, is definitely this year's "house ditz". Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Recall last season when Lisa, considered far from the smartest houseguest took home the $500,000 prize.

Amanda

Job: Bar Manager
Age: 25
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Chicago, IL
Jeff's Comments: Amanda and her ex Scott had some turbulent moments when they were first thrust back together. As of earlier today, though, they seem to be getting along quite well. According to chatter on the Internet feeds, expect Amanda to go sooner rather than later.

Dana

Job: Karate School Manager
Age: 28
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Queens, NY
Jeff's Comments: Dana is one of three houseguests without an ex in the game. She has quite the feisty atitude, and I expect her to be involved in manty arguments, leading up to her getting booted around week 5 or so.

David

Job: Former Army Ranger
Age: 21
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Deerfield Beach, FL
Jeff's Comments:David seems like a great guy with a super sense of humor. However, I expect the houseguests to be intimidated by his experince as a Ranger, and to give him the boot mid-game.

Erika

Job: Pilates Instructor
Age: 33
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Los Angeles, CA
Jeff's Comments: This girl might just take it all the way. As seen in episode 2, she is not in the house to "have a good time" or "make new friends", she's in it to win it. From watching the Internet feeds, it seems as if she's already incorporating the "fly below the radar" strategy, that more often than not a good one. Also, she's a dead ringer for last year's winner, Lisa.

Jack

Job: Retired FBI Agent
Age: 58
Marital Status: Divorced
Hometown:Birmingham, AL
Jeff's Comments: Jack seems to be a very nice guy, looking much youger than his 58 years. If he can overcome the age barrier and assimilate with the other houseguests, he'll go far. Unfortunately, around week 9 or so, he will succomb to the Big Brother "middle age man curse" and get booted a la George, Kent, and Gerry in previous seasons.

Jee

Job: Bookkeeper
Age: 23
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Elmhurst, NY
Jeff's Comments: Since entering the house, the most strained ex-couple is definitely Jee and Jun (say it out loud, it's fun). Jee seems to be a down-to-earth fellow who gets along well with all of the houseguests othjer than Jun. If he can survive the first few weeks, he will be a contender to win it all.

Jun

Job: Investment Manager
Age: 27
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:New York, NY
Jeff's Comments: Jun (pronounced June) is this years house chef. That alone will allow her to finish in the top half. Since being reunited, Jun has spent a total of literally less than one minute speaking to her boyfriend of 5 and a half years, Jee.

Justin

Job: Headhunter
Age: 22
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Pittsburgh, PA
Jeff's Comments: Alison's ex, Justin has been surprisingly quiet thusfar in the game. I'm going to wait a few days before making a prediction on how he will do.

Michelle

Job: College Student
Age: 19
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Boca Raton, FL
Jeff's Comments: At 19 years old, the beautiful Michelle is the youngest houseguest in Big Brother history. I predict tht she will be out within the first 3 weeks, otherwise, she will be one of the final three, as a result of the other houseguests underestimating her due to her age. On the Internet feeds, she has stated on numerous occasions that she drinks, so it should be interesting to see if she trys to sneak a few as the season goes on, and if so, what Big Brother's reaction to underage drinking in the house will be.

Nathan

Job: Personal Trainer
Age: 23
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Edmond, OK
Jeff's Comments: Nathan is the "stud" of the house this year. Recall Hardy from season 2 and Roddy from season 3. The ladies of the house have already gone ga-ga for him. I'm predicting a week 6-7 eviction for Nathan, as the "stud" never wins any reality show, ever.

Robert

Job: Restaurasnt Manager
Age: 33
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Los Angeles, CA
Jeff's Comments: Robert is another houseguest who I have not had much of a chance to observe on the Internet feeds. The one bit of information I was able to gather about him is that he was an alcoholic, and recovered a few years ago with the help of his father. I have a suspicion that Robert may have a bit of an attitude, but if he can keep it under control, watch for him at the end.

Scott

Job: Waiter
Age: 33
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Chicago, IL
Jeff's Comments: Get used to the knit cap you see in Scott's head shot, as he has it on constantly. This guy cusses like it's going out of style. As entertaining as he is to watch, I expect Scott to have a fair share of conflicts with the houseguests and get booted early.

Tommorrow, I will provide links to great web sites devoted to Big Brother to help further enhance your viewing pleasure this year. If you would like to get pinged to this thread when it is updated, either let me know ion this thread or FReepmail me. The houseguests just participated in a very interesting food competition. White-text spoilers below...

As I mentioned earlier, Jee "sold out" the house and took the Power of Veto in exchange for the other houseguests being stuck on PB&J all week.

Today, a food competition was held to possibly make the week more bearable for someone.

The entirety of the competition was not broadcast on the live feeds, but according to the live feed recap sites, here's the gist of the game...

The ceramic gnomes from last season were back, as was BB3 houseguest Marcellas, who emceed this competition. The competition involved smashing the gnomes and finding a ticket inside of each, either gold or black. The first houseguest to collect 3 golden tickets wins one McDonald's meal per day for a week, which may be shared with one houseguest.

Of course Jee went and won this competition as well, continuing the dumb irony of the past few days. You see Jee, of course, was the only houseguest NOT on PB&J this week. DOH!

Hello all. It's been a pretty boring last few days in the Big Brother house, but I did stumble upon this press release...

Fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer to discover which HouseGuest will win 'Big Brother 4' and take home the $500,000 grand prize. CBS has ordered two more additional episodes to push the season finale from Wednesday, September 17th to Wednesday, September 24th. The move will pit the 'Big Brother 4' finale against the returns of ABC's 'The Bachelor' and 'The West Wing'. The change-up will also delay the season premiere of 'The King Of Queens' which will now be on October 1st instead of September 24th. The finale of 'Big Brother 4' was supposed to coincide with the debut of 'Survivor: The Pearl Islands' on September 18th.

Thanks for the ping! Okay, just watched the show -- I thought it was verrry interesting that the house is suddenly looking like it's breaking off male against female. I love Jack and Erica, but I'm kind of annoyed by Erica, too...she seems like she's stabbing Jack in the back. Then again, it's a game....

So TWO people are leaving next week!?!?!? Now THERE'S a twist.

Howdy All! Time for a Wednesday morning update...

On tonight's live show, we will be seeing either Jack or Erika evicted from the Big Brother House. I'm personally disappointed, as I have been a fan of that alliance since the days of David.

If you saw last night's episode, you probably heard the announcer say at the end of the show that in a surprising turn of events, a second houseguest will be leaving tonight. Now, pay close attention to those words. I'm sure the producers are trying to make us believe that there are two evictions tonight, but I strongly doubt it.

I'm guessing that there will be a competition, perhaps combined with HoH, in which the winner will receive as a prize some time out of the house. This has been done each season. In season one, they sent Curtis to the Emmy awards, Will and Bunky got a helicopter ride over LA in season two, and last year, Amy and Jason got a romantic cruise.

What would be neat is if they somehow use the eviction house we saw last week as part of the prize, perhaps "trading" a current player with an evicted player for a day or two.

I'd love to hear anyone's speculation on what might happen tonight. Enjoy the show!

Wow!

Due to the creative editing, I don't know what's up. But, I know the deception and lies are flying... and those who lie the most are the ones who are screeching the most about how ethical they are.

I'm going to go out on a limb. Jun and Ali vote out Jack (who deserves to be voted out for being such a lame contestant... just roll the ball up there, Jack) and the women will face off against the men.

After a week of Jee, I'm tired of him too. And Robert... please give that man a thesaurus so he can have some more adjectives other than the "f" word.

That's my guess...

And I think you are right about the "trip". I don't think two people are being evicted tonight.

The finale of 'Big Brother 4' was supposed to coincide with the debut of 'Survivor: The Pearl Islands' on September 18th.

I am glad they changed the date, as it will save me from switching back and forth. Surivivor is a better show IMHO, and it's important to get in on the beginning. I believe that Jack will say adieu tonight. I'm especially interested in the next HOH contest and hope Jun wins...she'll be in a pickle re nominating Jee, but I don't think she'd hesitate to put him up along with Robert...or would she?

LOL! That was a pretty good show last night.

I wonder how long the other 4 sat there until they realized that she wasn't coming back?!?!

Power of Veto white-text spoiler below...

As we saw on the live show, Jun won a trip to the MTV Video Music Awards. The other houseguests were not informed of her whereabouts. The Veto competition consisted of the houseguests getting three clues as to where she was, and the first person to correctly guess where Jun was received PoV.

The first clue was a giant apple in the back yard (the VMA's took place in New York City, the "big apple").A few hours later, a giant video tape was placed in the yard. A few hours after that, a full-sized replica of an Appolo 11 astronaut appeared (The award statues given out at the VMA's are golden spacemen, a nod to MTV's commercials when they first came on the air).

Jee guessed that Jun went to the Space Needle in Seattle, Robert guessed that she went to Space Mountain in Disneyland, and Alison correctly guessed the VMA's, winning her the Power of Veto for this week.

Jun has not yet returned to the house. Nominations will most likely take place this evening.

Happy Labor Day all! White text spoilers below...

Jun has nominated Alison and Jee for eviction. It is assumed that Alison will use her Power of Veto to remove herself from the block.

OK, that was weird. How did Allison know what happened at the VMA's? All they were shown (as far as I know) on the video screen was Jun arriving there, then Big Brother cut away to a blank screen & put up the name of the winner of the PoV.

But then remember last night, Allison was complaining that when Jun got back, all she was going to do was brag about who she saw, and that she would tell them all about how "Madonna made out with Britney Spears & Christina Aguilara".

Weird how she knew about that.

At this point, Jee is the one I am hoping for. He's trying to be honest (as much as possible) with the other players, even to the point of telling Allison that she's not going to win any votes at the end if she makes it with the way she keeps playing everybody.

OK, that was weird. How did Allison know what happened at the VMA's?

I've been wondering the exact same thing. They blacked out the live feeds when the housegueguests saw Jun on the plasma screen, so maybe they showed them a brief highlight clip of the show itself? I will look into it further.

Hello all. Another Wednesday is upon us. The eviction episode tonight is a bit unique, as technically any houseguest other than Jun could potnetially be evicted. Realistically, though, when all is said and done, Alison will almost definitely use the Veto on herself (this will be done live BTW), and Jun will nominate Robert, leaving he and Jee up for eviction.

Tonight might be the last stand for the "dream team", as only one of them will likely remain and be competing with two of the women for Head of Household. We've reached the point in the game where players must be cognizant of the jury and nominate accordingly, so look for surprise nominations this week regardless of who wins HoH.

Did anyone happen to catch the new show "Joe Schmo" on Spike TV (formerly known as TNN) last night. I thought it was an extremely cool concept. It is a reality show similar to Big Brother, but all of the contestants but one are actually actors who are briefed daily by the producers on what should happen. It is very interesting watching the one "real" contestant in his "diary room" interviews giving his perspective on things being ignorant that it is all a big set-up. The show airs on Tuesdays at 9 right after BB.

Enjoy the show tonight!

Thinking about why Jun nominated Jee and Alison and what advantage she perceives that gives her. Naturally, she can easily explain to Alison that she nominated her ONLY because Ali had POV, plus the nomination would cast their apparent alliance into doubt in the eyes of the other players, thus making their alliance even sneakier and stronger. (But is Jun committed to that alliance? I think not.)

1. Alison will use the veto to save herself. If Robt and Jee were nominated, Ali would earn loyalty of one she saved with the veto....if she used it. Not something Jun would risk.

2. Jun creates a stronger bond with Ericka, as she has sent a subtle signal that in the long run, Ali is not her favorite "team" mate. (Jun is really good at creating ambiguity!)

3. Robert may actually be Jun's target as she wants to break up any possible alliance between him and Ericka. But if she nominated him instead of Jee, the other players would suspect an alliance between Jun and Jee, which in fact actually exists IMO. She has now apparently painted a big target on Jee's back. Again a subtle move on her part. I think, however, that they are in cahoots and have been all along. Why wouldnt they be?

4. When Ali uses her veto and Jun is "forced" to nominate Robt, the politicking will begin in earnest to get rid of Robt instead of Jee. This will be fun to watch! If Robt is the next person evicted, I think Jun will win the game.

I may be 'way off base with this speculation, but hope I am correct. I like the Dragon Lady aspect of Jun and have since day one.

A very important Power of Veto competition took place last night. Spoilers below...

Alison won the PoV competition. Assuming she will use it to take herself off of the nomination block, she will be the sole vote this week and decide whether to evict either Erika or Jun.

Without giving away the white-text spoiler, the POV winner absolutely deserves to win the game. In order to do so, I am quite sure what the POV winner will do.
