WOW! Not sure how much we got - on top of last night's and earlier - but the ground is saturated, and water is standing in yards, streets..

That's too bad jtill...does your committee have to continue, or can another group take over the job??

Actually, Molly, most of my committee is burned out. What bothers me, is that we will lose more and more church members as this drags on. My understanding is that it will probably take at least another 12-18 months if the vestry doesn't accept one of the candidates we just vetted.

That would mean that we would be going on 2-1/2 to 3 years without a permanent rector, and right now we have a retired priest as a temp and he is only part time. Not that he isn't good, he is. His sermons are knock your socks off every Sunday, and he is very gracious, etc. BUT, we have a congregation that is at least 1/3 over 70 years of age and quite a few of those are in their middle to late 80's, and they are getting nervous.

Oh, well, my worrying won't solve a thing. It will all work out on God's own time schedule.
