In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Speaking of birthdays, xs, are we going to have class on July 4? If not, we should celebrate your birthday on the 3rd or the 7th. Which would you prefer?

I thought it was just the 1-888 number that wasn't working east of the Mississippi....and that you can still use the website.

Grim, you should know that unlike the french the English language is adaptable and will willingly accept new words even from dubious sources. Just look at
this and tell me that the purity of the language is important. If we were like the french the only words we would be using would be the single syllable ones of Anglo Saxon origin that would get us banned even in the classroom. Don't let the zeitgeist of the American feeling for the french get in your way of enjoying a great word.
Or you could just think of a zeitgeist as just the hint of a pimple.
