In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Subbie Slip is watching you. She has a large telescope with her today. She will be yanking you out of class and into the Janitor’s closet if you are evil, and then maybe sending you off to the Principal’s office to refresh your memory on the usage of his learning stick. And, yes, the paddle has those wonderous holes in them.
zeitgeist noun:

I found the grade book in the Janitor’s Closet. Apparently, someone was hiding it in there. You will be graded today.
