In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

LOL! How true! Now, here's a favorite sort of "Before and After" of mine:

On the left is what was remaining of our local Borders Bookstore in October 2001, and on the right is the brand-spankin' new one that opened a few weeks ago right near Wall Street, on the corner of Pine Street & Broadway.

(Hmmmmmn. Somehow that doesn't sound right....)
If I had a dirty little mind, I would have pointed out that if CJ had taken the photo, then he couldn't have posted the picture in a public forum at all.....

Yes, we get a lot of that around here, and I've *always* been careful to not do that -- which is why I missed seeing the plane hit the first tower. I may be THE only person who was right out there and didn't look up until *after* it impacted.

I have excellent wide angle vision so I only look up to draw attention. To get a big crowd stop, look up, put one hand above eyes to block sun, point with the other, hold mouth agape.

NOT something I'd want to do in this neighborhood these days. Nobody would find it very funny anymore. :(

NYC is a place I'll probably never visit again (actually I only went there on business the few times I've been there). No offense intended there are a lot of good people there but I have no desire to go back. The further I get out the more I like it. I may build a tarpaper shack like CJ and really move out where the only running water is in the creek behind the shack.

Not much better but I just got home from my doctor and after I take the percocet he gave me it should be much better. I can't take it until after I pick up hubby from work at 6pm though so I'm stuck with the pain until then.
To: Flurry
No offense taken. I've always loved the place, but now I don't want to leave my neighborhood, let alone the city.

"Is that the one? Cyberbot wants one of those, too. "
Yep, that's exactly what I want, but in purple. Wal-Mart has them for $89.99 ($10 cheaper than everyone else.)
