I'll try to train them. Their attention span is still pretty short now.

If they were like my neighbor's labs, they won't need to be trained much to hunt. Be prepared for a reduction in chipmunks, mice, and other rodents. The dogs will simply hunt those on their own.

One of my neighbor's golden retriever found a gutted deer stomach. It became a 'trophy'. That same dog went after a chipmunk. Chipper went under the house. The dog was tearing at the aluminum siding trying to get the chipmunk.
