I think it is still an abstract to her - she knows it's July, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

We'll see how she is when I pick her up this afternoon. A cupcake with her name on it gets put on the calendar today. So we will see if she understands her b'day is tomorrow.

The thing I'm concerned about is there was always a family party for it on the 4th but that's not going to happen this year.

I'll be heading for the SPCA in an hour to scope out the situation - if I find anything hubby will pick me up a little later and we will make a transaction.

He also informed work that he will not work late tomorrow evening - it was after 7pm again last night when he finally got home from work.

It's been 10 years since I was last in the market for a dog. After the last one (the one we still have) hubby does not trust my judgement in the realm of dogs.

The black lab/chesapeake Bay retreiver we have was supposed to be a lab/cocker spaniel.

I have promised to go no larger than the size of a beagle or cocker, but he refuses to allow me to have the final say - I wonder why????

Oh, and in an entirely unrelated matter, I'm pleased to see that the good folks of Mesa, Arizona are trying to make riding the bus a more sybaritic experience for their citizens. I applaud their efforts. Why quibble over a few petty little details?
