I used to watch some of those late nite talk shows. One thing that always surprised me was the "appearances" of many guests. These were hollywooders, movie/tv, rich (my middle-American standards). I was shocked at what many of them wore and the seeming lack of any hair-styling for many female guests. Many of the outfits were not dressy-ups, but -- well, sort of in the realm of that Britney pic.

I would think: the average person in mid-America wouldn't be caught dead in some "git-up" like that. Yet these, the rich, upper-crust, were wearing clothing that even the thrift stores would reject.

Style for Hollywierd went out after 1959. Hollywierd Trashy outfits started coming in vogue during the 1960's and has gotten worse every year since!
