I know, ban history, lets pretend the civil war never happened, it was all made up for the sole purpose of degrading certain folks, its all a dream.

Actually you are on to something. Yes - let's ban all references to the Civil War, including everything that resulted from its outcome. Let's get rid of Amendment XIII and Amendment XIV. Let's reinstate the Dred Scott decision. Slavery is back in. The provisions of Article I that were not stricken by Amendments XIII and XIV are, of course, reinstated, as they regard apprortionment counting and slaves.

Yes, the left should be informed of all these things so they go into their decision-making with their eyes wide open and armed with facts.

Oh, yeah, forgot - the left is emotive, not logic, based.

With the 140th anniversary approaching, here are 2 new books by acclaimed historians:

Hallowed Ground; a Walk at Gettysburg by James McPherson, and

Gettysburg by Stephen Sears.

McPherson takes the reader over key sites on the battlefield...

Sears emphasizes the battle itself. And this book will be out by the end of this month.

Both authors put the battle into the context of the war...Sears quotes extensively from diaries and letters, from observers...
