AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 875 and 876) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 14, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 06/14/2003 4:41:04 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The President is visiting family in Kennebunkport, Hitlery says there should be an investigation on Iraqi intelligence, and Rome is complaining about temperatures that will be in the low 90s.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I can understand someone starving and trying an oyster and finding out they were good. I can even understand how fermentation for breads and beer could have happened accidentally.

I don't understand how chocolate (the process) was invented. I'm leaning toward alien visitation to the ancient Aztec culture as an explanation.

How about coffee? Pick these dark beans which are bitter, grind them up, pour boiing water through them, and drink.

That also came from the South American Indians...maybe you have something there, John. :-)

I've included the theory in my paper. It's a good thing Chef has a sense of humor. I'll have to add the corroborating evidence of coffee to bolster the argument.

Breaking news: Alkaloid craving aliens interfere with the natural development of the natives of the southern hemisphere of the Americas. ;>)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.....all you Dads!!!!

Our son called to tell his Dad he misses his hugs!!!
We haven't seen him in 6 months, and he misses his Dad's hugs.....

Tomorrow we will hear if he might be heading to California for another 'contract' job....

I don't think I can go 6 more months without seeing him...

..when he was born....all 5lb. 11 oz......we were so desperate to get nourishment into him, and all he wanted to do was sleep, sleep..sleep.

I can still see hubby holding the little fella, trying to give him a bottle & securing a washcloth around son's chin, cause the milk would just dribble out....

We thought he would never catch up to speed....but he did.

Turned out to be my healthiest!

Father's Day.....

..We had a lovely Father's Day at church.....

..The VBS Program was part of the service, and the kids were so cute singing their songs, and the video of the past week drew lots of laughs.

Our daughter, Jen, and her hubby came for the service.

Afterwards, we went out to lunch.

But hubby has a cold....and came home & took a long nap....(which he never does, so I know he's sick!)....

I really want to see my son......

...I probably need chocolate right now....

I don't have any chocolate in the whole house.....

..except...

...that bar of chocolate my husband has in the fridge, which he hasn't touched in a week...(I know!)...and which he won't touch until ...oh maybe, 3 or 4 weeks, when the spirit moves him.

...I hate that!!!

I think I will go remind him.......maybe he forgot he has it.....

...maybe he will share it...:)

Considering the polymorphism of cocoa butter, and the five (possibly 6) different forms that cocoa butter may crystalize into, I have no freaking idea whether it's meese or moose or mouse.

But, I do know the formula describing the non-Newtonian flow of the pseudoplastic mess called melted chocolate. A constant is required to be added to the Newtonian formula for viscosity (nabla equals shear stress divided by shear rate) because of the initial yield stress required to initiate the flow.

All of the above because molten chocolate is a suspension of particles of sugar, cocoa, and milk solids in a continuous fat phase.

Of two different fats that melt at two different temps. No wonder chocolate is a pest to work with.

Clear?

Me either. I just took all of mine to the dumpster. It's evil. I couldn't stand the thought of all of all of those glycerol and fatty carboxylic acid molecules sitting there waiting to stain my whites as they fail to organize in a socially acceptable way. ;>)

Depends on the temperature of the broiler and the time you leave it. Eventually, yes.

Or is it Gaussian motion? I forget. I'm just a cook.

Grandkids have left. Two hours at the pool and I am tired!

Newsflash: Emma, the four-year-old, can read. (Nathan already can.) Not just little words, but BIG words like "refreshments" and "corporation."

I am dumbfounded. Her dad was an early reader also, but he worked his way up through Dr. Seuss. This child has learned in about 2 months and is now reading at 4th grade level.

The Coopster does indeed have genius children.

I heard words like "recalcitrant", and "delinquent" and "incorrigible" when I was 4 -- does that count???

I tend to think long term. 10-20 trillion years from now, most of what we call chocolate will be involved in brownian motion. Twinkies will be unaffected. ;>)
