Are they required to salute a person who is carrying the Presidential Seal? Is that it? I'm sorry, this doesn't make sense to me. Why would our military be required to salute a non-person (other than UOx42)?

Anne wrote. If you credit news reports, the public can't get enough of Hillary. The crush of ordinary people buying Hillary's book seems baffling in light of recent polls.

I think the huge number of 200,000 books were the books purchased and delivered to book stores. I saw a post but could not confirm it that a Washington DC. TV station was reporting her first day sales were actually 40,000 books. That is quite good but no where near 200,000.

There was a time a celebrity and the media could combine to lie to the American people. They could get away with it. In a week or so the real figures will emerge, but I doubt they will stay quiet. FOX, Rush, Hannity, Beck, Mike Reagan and lots of places on the net will expose the true figures.

This will be an example of the changing media times. The days when the media could lie and get totally away with it are gone. With all the hype and promotion Hillary on Larry King could not beat FOX and a Clinton Accuser. What that proves is that the people that vote for the left do not watch news TV. All the news shows except PBS reach mostly a consrvative audience.

One thing we know from experienceis that audiences have habits. People get in the habit of watching CNN and do so. It takes real nudge to move them to a new Channel. For example people had a habit of watching the over the air channels. It takes years to break that habit. But in this spring's sweeps for the firt time the Cable Channels had more audience than the over the air channels. In 5 years it will be 5 to 1 in favor of the cable channels.

In 1972 less than 5 percent of the radio audience was listening to FM. By 1976 it was 50 - 50. By 1982 it was 90-10 in favor of FM.

The Days of CNN and the mainstream media dominating the news are about over. The bigies today will have less than 20 percent in 5 years. Five years is 2008 and a presidential election.

The days when the Democrats can depend on the media to elect them may be nearly over.

Boy, I certainly hope you are right!

On one of the threads there is word from lucianne.com that the first printing was NOT 1,000,000 books, nor anywhere near that (supposed leak from someone at Simon and Schuster).

Speculation on that thread is that Drudge is calling in his chits to get the low-down. I myself think that an interesting memo or purchase order will show up on The Smoking Gun.

The internet is a wonderful thing.

A GOOD A.M. TO ONE AND ALL OUT IN FREEPER LAND, USA FROM THE 'SOON TO BE DRENCHED' MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!!

Weather man has drawn his little box around the MS Coast and is saying 'get ready, itis acoming' so no trip to the farm today, need the reast anyhow.

Talking about the farm, things are looking a lot better for us getting up there. I am taking my house off the market and going to lease it HOPEFULLY to a military family. We have Keesler AFB and a Sea Bee base just a few miles from me and have talked to them about leasing. I told them I would completely furnish the house including dishes and cooking pots, etc. including outdoor patio furniture and will leave my lawn mower here as well. They liked that idea and are coming to look at it. Think about it, it will be added income to me being the house is completely paid for. I am leaving it to my daughter anyhow so why not benefit from it now. I will get up on the farm a lot faster doing it this way. Here is hoping. Ya'll think I am doing the right thing?

Chair, you are going to be like us Mississippians and have web feet from all the rain you are getting. D asked me why I was commenting on the weather in Washington and gd told her 'that is where Chairman lives'. One of these days I am going to get d and sil start freeping, make begtter folks out of them, sil is a cajun and I mean 100% one at that, ya'll would love him and of course, daughter Tracy also. They sure look after me.

Lott is suppose to write a 'tell all' book which means he will not run for the Senate again and will open the door for democract Mike Moore (AG of MS). He is popular so watch us drop one pub senator. That is politicians talk anyhow.

Good to be here this A.M. and I think I am going to fix me a bowl of grits so, see ya'll in a little bit.

On one of the threads there is word from lucianne.com that the first printing was NOT 1,000,000 books

The way to find out is to go to the printer... likely R.R. Donally & Sons which is the likely printer. You can bet that one of the major printing companies printed it. Find out from employees at the printers how many books were printed.

The publisher does not actually print the books. A printing company does. Got to the plant entrance gate and find a Printer operator at the printing plant that printed the books. Ask him. Then ask about 5 or 6 hourly workers who work on the presses. If their numbers track you can be pretty sure you have the right number. You can bet that nearly everyone in that plant knows how many Hillary books were printed. It has been a topic of discussion among all workers including hourly workers.

If you just go to the printing company office a spokesman will tell you they can't release that info. Workers are a good source. And if confirmed by several of them you can be sure of what the tell you.

Then if you are a sharp reporter you go ask the Publisher to confirm the original number the Publisher sated. When he lies to you, you tell him what you learned at the printers and ask him if the printer is lying. They think you mean the boss at the printing company, you mean the guy that ran the press.

Blind siding companies is one way to get to the truth.

I aspire to be as cunning as you are. LOL!

Where would that printer be located? I assume New Jersey or Chicago, but I have no idea.

Lott can't write his book until he retires due to the rules the Senate implemented after Newt got a fairly generous advance on his book. Remember the bruhaha over that? Also remember Hillary signed her book deal, for big bucks, prior to being sworn in, thus circumventing the Senate rules on book deals.

Newt's book was a textbook, for goodness sakes.

Lott can't write his book until he retires

Sure he can! He just can't get paid for it. You surely don't think his motivation is money.. do you?

Bill and Hillary blackmailed the Republicans in the Senate to prevent Bill's conviction on the impeachment... in fact the Republican Senators were blackmailed into agreeing to not even hear any evidence against Bill. To get that done Bill and Hill really had to have the dirt on some important Republicans. My question is, to whom do you think Bill and Hillary gave a copy of that proof to make sure the Republicans knew what the Clinton's had on Republicans?

It was for that reason that I really feared the consequences of firing Trent Lott. Trent talks in the warm pleasant non threatening tones of a smooth southern gentleman... but then so did John Wilkes Boothe.

Where would that printer be located?

R.R. Donally has a big printing plant here in Ohio but I am not sure where it is located. It was a huge customer of Mead Corp. Mead is paper maker here in Chillicothe. I know they print lots of books. From somewhere I get the thought that they are one of the worlds biggest printers.

Great day in the morning, almost forgot, gotta go and get my old pacemaker checked by a factory rep at 120 today, I always have to ask him what to do if they recall the type I have and he justs laughs, I am serious, what do I do. Better yet, who pays for the operation.

I have talked sil to make garden storage sheds that looks like a outhouse, crooked vent pipe, a one or two holer to store feed, etc in. Make it out of rough lumber, unpainted with a little blue flower box on the front of it, it will be as cute as can be and drive building inspectors nuts.
