We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Hans Blix lashed out at the United States in an interview with the British paper Guardian. According to that paper, Mr Blix, who retires in three weeks' time, accused:
· The Bush administration of leaning on his inspectors to produce more damning language in their reports;
· "Some elements" of the Pentagon of being behind a smear campaign against him; and
· Washington of regarding the UN as an "alien power" which they hoped would sink into the East river.
[Well, at least with the last he would be right if Washington was a euphamism for the feelings of the American people.]
In Kantafordia, Arnold Schwarzenegger delivered a speech in which, despite saying he's not running for governor (at least not yet), nevertheless called for a "voter revolution."
And The Washington Times is reporting that Rehnquist, O'Connor, and Stevens will likely remain on the Supreme Court for another year, meaning a vacancy would be less likely.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
By criticizing Sharon yesterday, President Bush justified the next attack from the palestinian terrorits......
I would hate to think that this President, like his father, had the attitude...."F" the jews, they don't vote for us anyhow......
Toby this thing in the mideast is going to get very very ugly before it gets better Roadmap or not. We are shaking the tree real good what with taking out the Taliban .....tearing into AQ and now taking out Saddam.
The forces of evil will win a few battles in this struggle.....but we have a President and National Security Team who will not Arafat and his minions win.
This bombing had been planned for some time.
And here is a picture of then Governor Bush in Israel, long before he considered running for president. He is far from anti-semitic. And the comment you are quoting was made by James Baker, not former President Bush.
The real world doesn't work anything like you think it does. It is very likely that Israeli government let Powell know before they made the strikes. It was agreed that Bush would make NO NO noises and then do nothing else.
It is a game that U.S. presidents and Israeli governments have been playing since 1949. If Bush had not said something his lack of condemnation would have been used to sir up the Arab Street. The attackers hope Bush would not comment or even better approve of the strike. That could really help with the suicide bomber recruitment.
To understand foreign affairs, note what nations do... pay very little attention to what they say.
Foreign affairs is like magic. If you want to know how it is done you have to watch carefully and ignore what that magician says. If you pay attention to what the magician says he will fool you. The same is true with diplomats and foreign affairs.
Games being paid with the blood of innocent people going to work, school, shoping, feeding their kids in the pizza place........
This moral equivalency is killing people.
THE PRESIDENT: Today there was a terrible bombing in Jerusalem. I send my heartfelt condolences to those who suffered and lost life.It is clear there are people in the Middle East who hate peace; people who want to kill in order to make sure that the desires of Israel to live in secure and peace don't happen; who kill to make sure the desires of the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority and others of a peaceful state, living side-by-side with Israel, do not happen.
To the people in the world who want to see peace in the Middle East, I strongly urge all of you to fight off terror, to cut off money to organizations such as Hamas, to isolate those who hate so much that they're willing to kill to stop peace from going forward. I strongly condemn the killings, and I urge and call upon all of the free world, nations which love peace, to not only condemn the killings, but to use every ounce of their power to prevent them from happening in the future.
Well, it WASN'T. They MISSED and hit bystanders, which I am certain they don't think was helpful either. The President also said that the attack on the Hamas guy yesterday wouldn't help Israel's security. Well, it didn't!
This is not moral equivalence. It is diplo-speak, which by now you should realize is a sop thrown to those Arabs who are trying to keep their own populations from pressing them into war with Israel.
I hate that innocent people are getting killed, and the sooner we can neutralize the terrorist groups the better, but it is helpful to remember that Israel is surrounded by hostile countries and although we are in Iraq, the US would prefer not to be drawn into a regional war.
Now I need to figure out how to use it .....
What type of stove did you end up getting?
