AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 871) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 10, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 06/10/2003 4:08:12 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Tonight, at 9:00 PM ET, Hitlery will be interviewed on CNN. Opposite that, on Fox News, there will be an interview with Juanita Broaddrick.

Meanwhile, The New York Times, in a review of Stealing Cheating Living History, referred to the "work" as a "[b]ook [that] has the overprocessed taste of a stump speech, the calculated polish of a string of anecdotes to be delivered on a television chat show." [Ouch!]

The FBI has drained a Maryland swamp as part of its anthrax probe.

Former Executive Editor of The New York Times, Harold Raines made a contemporaneous argument that then President Clinton should not be removed from office over the Lewinsky scandal. Now former President Clinton, it turned out, argued with the owner of the paper that Raines should not be let go over the Jayson Blair scandal.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

WOW! When you show up, you really show up ...... LOL! .... and what a pleasure it is to "see" you here.

I feel the same frustration that you do. And it's not just sinator pantsuit ...... the stunt the 'rats pulled in New Jersey ..... the way they picked up their marbles and wouldn't play in Texas recently ..... and on and on and on ..... it is totally disgraceful, disgusting, and abhorrent. ARRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

And now, having just gotten home a little while ago, I'm going to plant myself in front of the tv to watch Hannity and Juanita.

Back later.

Hi, Two Thirds! Hillary is sending us all into orbit!

I still say that we should ignore the sex stuff and instead concentrate on how ridiculous and boring the book is. Anyone who thought X42 looked like a VIKING and is stupid enough to admit it in print is so dimwitted she should not be allowed in government. And if you believe she wrapped up leftovers in the White House with Saran Wrap, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you!

I have been on some threads checking sales reports from various segments of the country. It is my opinion that outside of Manhattan and a few other urban areas, there is ZERO interest in this book. I think they are inflating the sales figures through a variety of tricks, and I am doing my darndest to figure out a way to find out.

Best sellers are not the same if the public finds out that half the sales went in bulk orders to unions and Hollywood types. Doesn't quite have the same cachet, does it?

She has a pumpkin colored outfit on talking to Larry King.

She looks like a demented jack-o-latern.

Oh my. I Really MUST have the fragrant white one.

I need to figure out what I will put it in. This area of the garden is totally enclosed, except for a 4ft 'doorway'. Bent Willow chairs w/ a weathered stump sawed flat for a coffee table/footstool. Bent Willow trellis with a verigated porceline berry beginning to scamper up. A couple of weathered 5 ft logs sawed flat at the top and the bottom with clay pots full of white stuff perched on top. It is VERY primitive.

I may buy a whiskey barrel with a liner and sit it out there to see what the effect is. I know this is hard to believe, but I have this area of the garden very nearly where I want it, and I don't want to screw it up.

There is a second 'room' to this patio area, and I may end up needing to place it there.

I am quite intrigued with the idea of growing water lilies in containers ..... I'd love to have a pool or pond but we simply don't have time these days to do the work. A "container pool" might be a possibility though.

Thanks for the links you're posting about lotus. I'm bookmarking them for future reference.

Before leaving for Charlotte today, I unplugged the cable modem, turned off Zone Alarm, and left the computer defragging. It worked like a charm ...... :-)

Your figuring out that the offending file was connected to ZA was the key. Thanks a million!!!

LOL! Not a thing, CT, but I don't think that is what she meant.

I caught part of her interview on Larry King. She was charming him (as much as is possible) when he did ask her about the Marc Rich pardon, which she said she would let her husband tell about. He pressed her slightly, and she got a really mulish look on her face and said "I..said..that..is...for...my...husband ...to ...discuss." Larry moved on to questions about her running for president, when the "charming persona" resurfaced. It was chiefly lots of head-tossing and fake laughter.

Also, Dog is right, the pantsuit looked like a pumpkin.

I hope there is something to take her out of the news soon. I thought I was tired of the Laci Peterson coverage, but this Hillary-palooza is getting on my last nerve.

Barnes and Noble said sales had been brisk in downtown Indianapolis. Further down in the story I see that they had sold 10 out of 30 books in stock.

This is a pretty loose definition of brisk, in my opinion, especially when the one person they interviewed was buying the book as a JOKE GIFT for her Republican brother's birthday! HAR!

10 out of 30 books in stock

Publishers generaly count as sales the books sold to stores. After all if the store buys 30 books that amounts to 30 books sold by the publisher. If on the other hand the store only sold 10 then only ten books were sold to real people. So initial sales figures can be quite misleading.

Car makers keep their books on cars sold to dealers, not cars sold to individuals. The same is true of the recording business. REcord sales are sales to stores. Hit records are often determined by counting the sales to individuals at many stores. These sales figures rank the hits and are a more accurate accounting of sales.

Sometimes there are special deals in which a pubisher will agree to take back books that don't sell. But that is rare.

There is one other thing I have noted. When Sam's Club fails to sell technical books in a few months, they sell them at a huge loss to MicroCenter Computer Stores. I found that almost all the books on the Microcenter Book Store Shelves used to display Discontinued books have a Sams Club price sticker underneith the MicroCenter sticker.

Sometimes the same book is stocked on the regular shelves at MicroCenter Book store at list price. Tthe same book may be in the discontinued section for 15 percent of the price they are asking in the main part of the book store.

But it confirms my contention that most book stores buy the books they sell. They are not purchased with the right to return if they don't sell.

I would bet you the 200,000 books were books placed on the shelves in book stores. The real sales were more likely 60,000 books or less.

Here's a PRAISE REPORT.

I have a job. I start in the morning. I am working for the management company, that run my apartment complex. I will not work here. I'll be working at two different locations. One is only about ten to fifteen blocks away from here. The other complex is about 45 mintues from here.

I'll will be doing repair on apartments. The company is hurting for repairmen/person. I really surprise to hear that they do most of thier repair "in house." There was a real bad fire, here at my complex, New Years Day. Two apartments destroyed. (No one hurt. Thank God.) The apartments are still waiting for major repair. Loosing big time money.

I taking a BIG cut in pay. However, it is work and a start. I'll still work, at getting my business started. As a friend told me today, "Baby steps, JP. Baby steps.

I was able to talk the finance company, for the truck, to refi my truck. From 465.11 to 304.00 per month. To me that's a BIG Blessing from GOD. Amen!

Cutting my sending to the bone. Even cut off the cable TV. (ouch no FOX Channel.) However, I keeping the DSL on my phone bill. I'm hooked on Freerepublic.com, ATRW and Lurking.

Once again, thank you, thank you and thank you one more time for your prayers and support.

Now it's time for me to sit back and do some lurking.

Your Prayer Warrior

JP

What I find bizarre is that there is not one single review of Living History on Amazon.com. I'm going to try to create one. BRB

That is very interesting. One of the things I love about this site is the things you can learn. I know next to nothing about the publishing business, but I am sure learning a lot this week!

Hillary is trying to be likeable. It is very painful to watch.

I have another thought about this book publicity. Hillary is trying to get everyone talking about the sex angle all over again. If that is what the discussion centers upon, she can portray Republicans as prudes and such. I think this is a trap that Republicans shouldn't fall into, although I see much of the conservative media is starting to do so.

I still think your forming the question so that she is seen as gullible is the best answer. We don't need a gullible person as president.

Wonderful news, ICFN!! You continue in my prayers, but what an excellent praise report!

I know here in the Midwest there is a shortage of qualified maintenance people. My sister is a regional director for a company that owns apartments, and she is constantly looking for people. If you stick with the job and really impress them, you will probably find all sorts of opportunities open up!

And that is good news about refinancing your car!

Don't feel bad about giving up Fox for a few months. Right now all you are missing is Hillary discussions and Laci Peterson stuff.

How wonderful! Praise the Lord!

I agree with Miss Marple .... if you are dependable and do good work, opportunities will come. I know that, as an employer, we are constantly evaluating our workers to see if any show signs of being ready to take on more responsibility .... and we're delighted when we can advance someone. It helps both them and us ..... :-)

The prayers will continue!
