Hi Kay... back on for just a few minutes. My back is giving me fits. Hurt it trimming trees (7 live oaks on my property) and it is making it very difficult to do anything productive.
Trust all is going well with you, Herb and the rest of the family. Say "hi" to Herb for me.

Don't ask me about these names, I just use the information I'm taught. Actually, I think the cellophane noodles are made from rice starch. -----
The cellophane noodles in my pantry are called vermicelli (Bean Thread) and are made from Mung Beans - how I don't know but they are a handy pantry item that doesn't spoil.

Ouch! A bad back can just ruin your day! You take care .... and do see a doctor if it doesn't get better soon.
We're doing fine ..... staying busy ..... :-)
Will pass on the greetings to hubby when he gets home.

Here is a great story you might not read because the title is very cryptic. It is a wonderful story about how we are helping rebuild Iraqi neighborhoods.
Go here for the story.

Prayers answer, bev. Hugs to you and Larry.

Checking in. It's a good thing I read the entire thread before I posted. I went to Barnes and Noble. Not a single danged Shill book to be found. Lots of Tiger Woods stuff on display upfront.
I wandered around, looking for 'the book'. Several clerks were keeping an eye on me, so I thought perhaps several other people had gone before me.
Now I find out the danged book won't be on the shelves until tomorrow. I thought it was sold out already and was going to tell you as much. So good to know I was in error.

Evening all. A long day at work today, with not good news. Layoffs have just started, a reorganization is in the works for the third time in 15 months. I can't divulge much more detail, but the layoffs will be extensive. Sigh. I would appreciate some good thoughts sent my way.
To: Utah Girl
Prayers going up for your good fortune.

Thanks. I'm going through my finances this evening, I will be OK. I will receive a big severance package if I'm laid off, I'm just a big worrier. I just hate being up in the air, and the games being played right now by upper management aren't helping. :)

Here is my theory this evening about Hillary (subject to change of course.) I think she has miscalculated playing the victim once again, and pinning the blame on the VWRC. That strategy may have worked before 9/11, but I think Americans are weary of her tactics. Everything is about herself and how she is so persecuted, and grand things would have been accomplished if only the VRWC wouldn't have such meanies. President Bush is facing a lot of opposition, and is still getting things done. I think most of the American people see that, and appreciate it. And he doesn't whine. The hard core supporters of Hillary will be just that, but I think the rest of us have had it. Like Doggie says, Hillary is sooo Sept 10th.

I'm hoping you keep your job .... or at least a position in the company.
But I will say that many times I have seen people laid off who felt like their world had come to an end ...... but within a short time they realized that the change happened because the Lord had something better for them. So I will be praying that the Lord's will be done ..... and that you will have peace about whatever comes your way.
*hugs*

Thanks so much. I will be OK if I am laid off, I just hate uncertainty.

Are you still here? I have a question for someone with some knowledge of geek-type stuff .... but I need the answer on a Pre-K level .... *grins*
It has to do with a problem with my computer.

Being such a computer dummy, I rely on Norton System Works to do little housekeeping tasks for me ... such as Speed Disk, which apparently does the same thing as defragging but is quicker.
But right now, it won't do the Speed Disk thingy .... says there is some kind of problem with a file call tvDebug.log ..... I have no clue what that is, whether I need it or not, where it came from, or whatever.
Will I crash my whole computer if I just delete the offensive file? Is it critical? Have you ever heard of it?
I'm using Win98, I think the processor speed on this computer is something like 700 whatevers, and it's an Athlon processor. I don't think it's relevant but I use IE. Any other info you might need?

Just cut and paste that file to another location. That way, if you need it, you can copy it back to where ever it resides officially. After a little searching, it looks like that file comes from Zone Alarm crashing. That I don't know about, but it looks like you can delete the tvdebug.log file. Just to be on the safe side, I'd move it to a different folder, and try Speed Disk again. Apparently that file just continues to grow, so the application will create another one on its own. Let me know.
To: Utah Girl
Are you saying to create a new folder just to put that in? In that same section of Windows or somewhere else altogether ... such as directly in my C: drive?
I just looked at that Internet Logs file again .... there are a ton of ZA files ..... can I just delete them all? I'll certainly never use them, at least not on purpose .... LOL!

Are all the files in the same directory? Just move that directory to another directory. And yes, I'd create a new directory under c:\, like c:\rid files\keep\ and copy the folder to that keep directory. See if you can run Speed Disk. Reboot your machine, if things seem to be working, I'd just delete that folder. Do you have Zone Alarm installed? See if any problems occur before you delete that folder. Good luck.
