I think I would have preferred Arlo Gutherie to Herman's Hermits. Sorry, LD

What did you think of the property??

ohio, tomorrow, subbing at the organ, you'll be just fine!

(((Guenevere))), You are so good at those travel and sightseeing accounts.

Okay, I'm ready to give a report on our Church's proposed Biblical Garden and Labyrinthe. I needed to go back to the plans and take a few notes...:-))

The area is an appox. 30'x70' inner courtyard. It's totally surrounded by inside walls of the church building.

From my planting and observing over the years, I've found it to be variable as to dryness. All areas close to the walls are covered by an overhanging roof line.On the long west side, this means dryness, but not on the other 3 sides.

And of course, the temp within the courtyard is warmer than outside. It's a little hothouse, protected from wind and extreme cold.

So....there's to be a 7 circuit labyrinthe of boxwood, and the plants are almost all mentioned in the Bible, according to the designer: Flowering almond, anemone;daisy, catmint, coral bells, flax and phlox, and oriental poppy are among the design.

Much shrubbery, hosta, iris and assorted ground covers have to be removed first. THAT will be some job! But the church's Boy Scout Troop is going to help, thank goodness.

We need to raise some money, too!

I am still trying to understand how a person who does not pay taxes gets a $400 tax rebate, sheesh.

That sounds absolutely lovely. I hope it goes well and I want to see it, or at least a picture, when it is complete.

My guess is that it has to do with the welfare program called "Earned Income Credit."

We are starting to draw out our prayer park up on the farm. We are going to hasve lots and lots of rosses, some green shrubs (year round), some flowers, a small alter just in front of a hugh cross, it is going to be something else when we are thru.

By the way, a GOOD P.M. TO ONE AND ALL FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!! It has stopped raining here, sun shinning and it is very nice now but very warm. We got 4" of rain yesterday.

Doesn't it mean there are seven rings from the center?

My best guess.

That's definitely a possibility Jane.

Sounds good, Toby. I just did a limited google search and there's info out there on prayer/meditative gardens and designs.

Yes, blooming more than once is a plus.

Last Sun, traveling thru s.w. Ohio, I saw an amazing display of perennial blue salvia. It was quite dense, an electric blue, and spread out underneath some small, ornamental trees.

I can usually get mine to bloom again, if I deadhead promptly and keep fertilizing.
