The BUFF is my favorite large plane of all time. At McConnell which is in Kansas we had KC-135's and Titan II ICBM sites. Boeing had a refit center on the other side of the flightline. I love to watch BUFF's climb out with their nose still pointing slightly down. The seaplane I built could climb nose down with a little flap in. Sold the thing to an idiot who decided to land wheels down in the water. D'Oh!!! Nobody got hurt but they killed my bird.

I've seen an SR71 in real life take off at McConnell (had to have repairs done that's why it was there). When they lifted the nose they kept lifting til it went straight up and eventually out of sight. It didn't take long and that type take off was SOP. Minimized low altitude flight at all costs.
