Country Music Awards Make Dixie Chicks Butt of Jokes

I'm not usually one to watch Award Shows, but I had to tune into the Country Music Awards show last night. It was quite fun to watch! There were tributes to our troops --- songs, words of support and appearances by some of our recent POWs. I have never seen such patriotism on a celebrity award show! The "cake" was there were several cracks at the expense of the Dixie Chicks. The icing on the cake was that, not only did the Chix not win Entertainer of the Year, but they were roundly "booed" when their name was called as a nominee. The cherry on top was that Toby Keith, "the angry American" who was bashed by the Chix, did win entertainer of the year!!!!!

WOW! That sounds like fun! Bring a big sign, that says something like, "Victory is the Sweetest Revenge". I, too, thought he got "hosed" and was worried that they might have deliberately kept awards from him to avoid controversy. I was THRILLED to see he won the one that really counted.

I tuned in because I knew the Chicks weren't there live --- to me that meant I would only have to suffer for a short time. I'll admit, I was hoping to see them booed. I watched for the same reason people watch car wrecks!

I, in an attempt to flee the idiotic calls of Joey Crawford during the Mav's/Spurs game, landed on the awards only to catch a performance by the biggest bunch of rump-rangers I've seen since Culture Club--Rascal Flats. It's sad what Nashville has done to Country Music. I follow Texas Country such as Pat Green and Robert Earl Keen and had no idea how feminine the mainstream country scene has become.

BARF!!!!!!!!!!

I was very disappointed with the way Keith and Worley were not given the awards they deserved. Toby won Entertainer of the year but he should have won album of the year also, and Worley should have won song of the year. It was nice to hear Toby walked out in disgust when the Dixie Chicks came on.

I really look forward to seeing him tommorow night at the top of the world up
here in Fairbanks, Alaska!!

Hope you have as good a time as another Toby Keith had a little while back.
Lurkers and posters who didn't see the thread about Keith's recent appearance in
Valley Center, KS should go to this thread:

Well, Entertainer of the Year is the crown jewel and I'm thrilled he got it. Alan Jackson had a great album, too, and I don't begrudge him that. Was "Have You Forgotten" even up for song of the year?

By the way, that is what she wore to the awards last night (by remote satellite) and yes, that is an "F.U." that is visible on her shirt.

Isn't she lovely?

Sometimes even people who aren't C/W fans seem almost normal. (:>D

The full t-shirt message was "F.U.T.K." This woman is a public relations "genius."

I read that it said "F.U.T.K." which is an abbreviation for "F... You Toby Keith.'

Classy, eh? White trash with money.

F.U. Toby Keith

Toby Keith won the Entertainer of the Year Award.

She didn't get anything but boos.

No matter what her attitude towards Keith before the awards was (I hear it isn't good), it makes her looks like a sore loser - which I guess puts her in solid Democrat territory.

What does F.U.T.K. stand for?

It was a mispelling. Besides being dyslexic, she is disengenuous, deplorable, dimwitted, despicable, dismissive, denunciatory, duplicitious, depraved, dismissive, demonstratively deragatory, and disillusional.

The proper spelling should have been: "FUKT"

Which she is, undoubtdly. Along with her 'music'.

Probably wishful thinking on her part.

He probably does not want to contract a v.d.
