You're the Producer: How Would You Change "Fox and Friends"?

I enjoy watching "Fox and Friends" each morning on Fox News. No, I'm not completely crazy about every show, but I do enjoy it.
This morning, however, one of my pet peeves received the last straw as I watched a clip of radio "personality" Mancow. I think Mancow is a nosebleed, and finally wrote friends@foxnews.com to let them know.
I'd like to know what other Freepers think of the show. Do you like it? What are you least favorite aspects of the show? If you were the producer, how would you change this program?
I'll start off with my own suggestions.
NEW CHANGES FOR FOX AND FRIENDS:
1. Get rid of Mancow; he comes across as an idiot on television. His Web site includes a lot of profanity and sick humor. Conservatives don't need that right now.
2. The on-air personalities [Steve, E.D. and Brian] behave like their only audience is conservatives. Sometimes this makes them come across as twits.
3. The need to talk with people on the street more. This would make the show a bit more interesting, and would encourage more people to visit the sidewalk outside their studio in midtown.
4. A GAP Store has a prominent sign across the street from the studio, which shows up on camera and looks like a paid ad. Just a little thing, but it bothers me. [Am I the only person who sees this sign?]
Okay, now let me know YOUR thoughts...

Did anybody else hear on Fox and Friends this morning the announcement that terrorists had hijacked an airliner and were threatening to fly it into a highrise in Saudi Arabia?
To: paulklenk
OK, you asked.
The first thing I would do would be to either put some shades over those windows or block them out altogether.
There is nothing more distracting then catching a glimpse of some twit acting like a total dufus in the window, waving to the cameras,(while I'm trying to pay attention to E.D.'s figure) err, trying to pay attention to the topic of discussion!

Yes, I did hear that.

1. The little windows in the back of the set irritate me. Either have bigger windows or no windows. 2. I don't like the set - it's bland and they haven't ever changed it. 3. They remind me too much of Regis & Kelly. Gelman hasn't changed that show's format for years. It's good to change the format once in awhile so it doesn't become stale. 4. Lauren Green is in a different location from Fox & Friends and some of the banter is simply "how ya doin?" because they aren't together. 5. Just a little creativity in the morning - a little more entertainment and man on the street. (better than Imus who's been arguing all week with his news guy about who they like Lester Holt or Rick Sanchez. NOW THAT'S A STUPID WASTE OF AIR TIME.) FV

i have never seen the GAP sign. i like the show ALOT, i think their interplay is hysterical and very much like everyday people discussing the issues of the day. They poke fun at themselves and are very self-deprecating, which is a marked contrast to the other shows that take themselves OH SO seriously.
my pet peeve, and it applies across the board to Fox, is that they allow a person to be onscreen w/o identifying that person by the onscreen tag. If you miss where the person is introduced or aren't watching closely and miss who is whom, you are pretty much out of luck, because they may NEVER be identified during the rest of the segment. that totally irks me. I watched this AM and there was the extremely pretty black woman, a fox news analyst, Angela someone, and i had to stand there for quite awhile to see if they would put her name back up.

and i disagree with you about the man on the street stuff. i could care less about what the people on the street thing, they are mostly clueless anyway! and i love mancow, i think he is hilarious. he is a highlight of the show for me!

They just mentioned the Saudi attempted hijacking. Just a blurb on F & F. Steve the Weather Guy is talking about the high alert status at the moment (guest Cap Weinberger). Steve's smart yet goofy enough when he's doing the weather to keep me amused.
They probably auditioned hundreds of people for F & F and I think they're all intelligent without being arrogant about it. I've heard Brian and Edie both hammer pundits. I don't think that's Steve's style. The three are a good balance.
The weekend team is coming together too.

Yikes!
[Okay, I asked for it.]

I agree that Steve balances the other two well. He's not quite as obnoxious. Great personality.
To: paulklenk
well i am just being honest, not mean!! : ) i don't think they need more gravitas, if i wanted the stuffed shirt, we are oh so intellectual, i would watch something else. Personally, their appeal is the feeling that this is a bunch of people in a bar talking about the issues of the day(which is xshub's description and why he is critical of it, but that is the very thing that appeals to me).
