Wow - Bellingham looked cool! My niece went to college there... is still going through the summer, actually. Had to drop a class and take it again, so she didn't graduate this spring like she had hoped to.

Read somewhere that the honor guard at Arlington absolutely has to wear sunglasses due to sunglare from the marble and granite around their post.
Otherwise, they'd be blind in no time.

Wonder how many of them have ended up with reflective sunglare sunburns?

Nope that 'house' is long gone....Last I knew a church had been built to the right of where it stood......

Nope, there were houses with basements, furnaces and flush johns...That wasn't much of a 'house', one step up from a shack, but it was home for a number of years....I sure never felt I was suffering any......

It's interesting isn't it when kids come from a happy home, even if they are poor, they never really know their poor.

The local news just showed some video of the eagle nest...One egg has hatched and there is now one baby eagle..I sure haven't seen it yet....

If that was where I was born, certain pews in said church would be unsafe to sit in.
People would spontaneously pop out with, "The POWER COMPELS YOU!"
And then they'd levitate...

Most everyone was poor, some were just poorer. There was a neighborhood grocery store across the street from that house. The kid there was a couple of years older than I was. He couldn't stand going to the movie alone, so I got to see a lot of movies I couldn't afford cause he'd pay my way.....lol...Didn't bother me a bit!!!

Friday night Leno was talking about Disney's new self destructing DVDs. They only last a day.

He said that it would let kids enjoy a Barney disk all day, and then in the evening the adults could gather round and enjoy watching Barney die.

Huh - I hadn't noticed too many honor guards styling...I'll keep an eye out - so to speak.
