Good morining...jeez, what a news junkie I am...have been catching up on last week's news.

Amazing thread Mo on Billybub clinton's speech to the fawning, "clinton 101", history class...I guess I believe that the more this nutcase is in the public eye, the better it is for conservative politics. Seems a lot of democrat's are saying the same thing...he should shut up. I say MORE clinton!!

We had almost 3-days of snow...not a lot of accumulation, but hugh drifts, really series stuff, from high winds. Nice white-out conditions. I think this means we are finished for the season, now all I have to do is rescue a bunch of equipment that is parked on the other side of a 15,000-foot pass.

Dawson teacher arrested, charged with sexual assault
By MARTHA ASHE Special to the Tribune-Herald

DAWSON — Navarro County authorities on Friday arrested a high school teacher with the Dawson public school district, about 25 miles east of Waco, charging her with sexual assault of a student.

A Navarro County grand jury on Thursday indicted 23-year-old Katie Fox of Corsicana on one count of sexual assault of a 15-year-old female Dawson High School student.

Steve Keathley, Navarro County district attorney, said the alleged assault occurred in late January of this year but wouldn't say if it occurred on school grounds.

Keathley said he could not comment on the specifics of the case but said it was presented to the grand jury after an investigation by the Navarro County Sheriff's Department.

Fox turned herself in at the Navarro County jail Friday afternoon, a sheriff's spokeswoman said, and was in the process of posting bond. Bail was set at $15,000.

Fox, who has an unlisted phone number, could not be reached for comment. Her attorney, George Robinson of Fairfield, would not comment Friday.

Keathley said investigators videotaped a statement by the student through the Corsicana Children's Advocacy Center. The video was shown to grand jurors, he said.

James Stansberry, Dawson superintendent, said the district investigated the allegation and turned over information from that investigation to authorities.

Stansberry would not comment on the specifics of the case or any possible discipline action, citing advice from attorneys.

Fox was in her first year of teaching, Stansberry said.

"She's been a very good math teacher and a very good coach," he said.

Looks peaceful enough.
But you never know what might be beneath the waters...

He sat quietly in his boat, fishing pole over the side, and swatted at mosquitos while cursing the hangover that currently was residing somewhere around teh top of his head.
He wasn't sure where exactly, as the top of his head was also moving in seemingly opposite directions.

His pole jerked and flopped to the bottom of the boat as teh line went taught suddenly.
Cursing again, he bent slightly, limply, to pick it back up and reel in the fish at the end of the line.
It struggled with him fiercely for a few minutes, and then.. silence.
The line went slack, and his face sagged.
It got away.
He leaned over the side of the boat and frowned.
There were two sulphurous eyes looking out of the water at him.

On shore, someone heard a scream and a splash as the strangest fish he'd ever seen pulled the fisherman overboard by his head, snapping his neck like a twig in the process.
The police later thought they were dealing with a lunatic.
Who'd ever heard of a fifteen foot long fish with short stubby arms and legs?

So the one that got away, didn't get away after all. It got closer. What a sweet story.

Yikes.
Yeah, one could say that.

When I go fishing, I NEVER catch anything except a cold.
And yes, inspiration for all kinds of stories comes from odd places.
Gran put up a pic of a small vine she has, and I came up with a short story about the vine, and how it was going to get it's revenge, and that the neighbor's dog would pay.

Hmmm.

The Su'un Flo'Wer sat patiently waiting for it's prey to arrive, glistening in the sun and sending out the scent of nectar.
It wouldn't have long to wait, no.
Not long at all, it's prey was always in search of nectar and always hungry.
The Su'uns had been here for generations untold, hunting in the fields with their bright yellow heads waving in the light of Sol above.

Wait.
A fat buzzing tempting morsel appeared.
It wove left and right before approaching the large tempting 'flower' face on.
Closer... closer...
Something told the buzzing insect to sit still for a few seconds.

Suddenly, the bumblebee sped away as a child's soccerball rolled by.
The Su'un Flo'Wer growled to itself and waited.
It had all day to wait for more prey.
It could wait forever...
..as it pushed bee carcassess under it's roots to hide it's nature from the Hu-Mons.

A gator... Well, that is one interpretation.
I was imagining a huge Coelocanth.
Well, at least it's not the Orthos and the Un'nions story.

But.. there's the Su'un Flo'wer deal....
