"We have the technology, we can make him... Better."
*All kinds of sick demented implications there.*
I'm one of those guys who, if I had the spare cash, would overclock my system till it lit up like a lightbulb and could cook toast.
I also troll about PC hardware sites for new info and such.
(Much as one trolls for Bass when fishing..) ,*-p [clonk]

Howdy Gran,
The weather has been goofy all over the place. Out here, as .38 can attest, we have had temps in the 90's at an early time..especially here on the coast. 95 can be a temp but later in the summer. And we are getting ready to go on a little trip to the midwest (Iowa) and I am being told that it has been a cold dry spring...

I lived in Bremerton and on Capitol hill in Seattle for ten years, got a real feel for the neighborhood. 1967 to 1977.
It was as much at risk then as now. It does paint a real cheerful picture, thinking of those fleet balistic missle submarines near Bremerton rolling around the hillsides like so much cordwood after the Tsunami returns.
Hawaii has got another killer scenario. The big island, you know where all the lava flows are around Mauna Loa? There too the islands have debris lines up at the 200 to 300 ft vertical mark. It has really been a mystery, until deep ocean surveys were done. Then an amazing circumstance becomes self evident. You know the volcano rises from a much deeper level on the Pacific in a steep cone, and that at the top the lava flows into sheets many square miles in area, and when the bottom of the slopes are examined, deep under water, there are pieces of those sheets deposited there. It wasn't until somebody realized those sheets break off from the top and slide down to the bottom that the mechanism was recognized. This is why the volcano has a cone shaped appearance. Sheets are forming at the top, dozens of square miles in area and hundreds of feet thick, then when the slope they form on can't hold them up anymore, they scoot to the bottom and accumulate at the base, giving the volcano its cone shape.
The next crack in the current sheet has been identified and the government volcano research center there has built a hut over one portion of it to track even the most minute changes, and will probably be able to sound the alarm at least hours before it finally gives way. It could be anytime; tomorrow or a thousand years from now. When it gives, quite a few square miles of ocean will be given quite a fast shove and the wave could propagate up to the historical levels of wave-born debris.

A French Poem
Eleven thousand soldiers
lay beneath the dirt and stone,
all buried on a distant land
so far away from home.
For just a strip of dismal beach
they paid a hero's price,
to save a foreign nation
they all made the sacrifice.
And now the shores of Normandy
are lined with blocks of white:
Americans who didn't turn
from someone else's plight.
Eleven thousand reasons
for the French to take our side,
but in the moment of our need,
they chose to run and hide.
Chirac said every war means loss,
perhaps for France that's true,
for they've lost every battle
since the days of Waterloo.
Without a soldier worth a damn
to be found within the region,
the French became the only land
to need a Foreign Legion.
You French all say we're arrogant.
Well hell, we've earned the right--
We saved your sorry nation
when you lacked the guts to fight.
But now you've made a big mistake,
and one that you'll regret;
you took sides with our enemies,
and that we won't forget.
It wasn't just our citizens
you spit on when you turned,
but every one of yours
who fell the day the towers burned.
You spit upon our soldiers,
on our pilots and Marines,
and now you'll get a little sense
of just what payback means.
So keep your Paris fashions
and your wine and your champagne,
and find some other market
that will buy your airplanes.
And try to find somebody else
to wear your French cologne,
for you're about to find out
what it means to stand alone.
You see, you need us far more
than we ever needed you.
America has better friends
who know how to be true.
I'd rather stand with warriors
who have the will and might,
than huddle in the dark
with those whose only flag is white.
I'll take the Brits, the Aussies,
the Israelis and the rest,
for when it comes to valor
we have seen that they're the best.
We'll count on one another
as we face a moment dire,
while you sit on the sideline
with a sign, "friendship for hire."
We'll win this war without you
and we'll total up the cost,
and take it from your foreign aid,
and then you'll feel the loss.
And when your nation starts to fall,
well Frenchie, you can spare us,
just call the Germans for a hand,
they know the way to Paris.

I don't mind the heat as much in Fl..because everything is suited to it down there.
Yeah, that and the cental AC that keeps you from slitting your throat to escape the heat and the humidity.
Everyone loves a good AC system.
