Westy that last picture is great...I am going to have a little album, all of 'Westy'

I would advise you to save all those pics....in time, some of the grandkids may really show an interest as they get older, and older...

Andy was never really interested in looking at old, old family pictures, or listening to all the old family stories, even when he was a teenager...

But ever since he was about 24 or so, he has shown a great interest in all the family stories, and in all the pictures...Dom and I have slowly let go of many of the old pics, and gave them over to Andys care already...he really loves having them doled out bit by bit, as he can take his time arranging them as he wants them....

Like I said, when he was younger, he hardly showed any interest in these things at all...now, he cant get enough of it...so hang on to those pics, perhaps someday one of the grandkids, will really show an interest...

It takes the perspective of time, and getting outta the rat race before most of us have the leisure to enjoy exploring our past and getting to know those who came before us.

Wow, is that desolute looking, huh? I love that hat..

Is that a little Malamute pup in the background? It looks like Malamute country..

Was it spring thaw, as no one looks like they're dressed too warm? Or did they just jump outside to take that pic and left the nice warm woodstove?

You know, I have been checking that nest every day that I am online and all I ever see is an empty nest with one egg still in it, and one eagle sitting over off to the side, on a branch....if the one eaglet has died, and the other egg never hatched, I am so very sad....especially after the success of the two babies, that we watched last year...

Supposedly this is a new male with the older female...perhaps he is inexperienced at helping his mate care for the eggs, and the new babies...perhaps in time, he will from this experience...

Thats excellent advice, Loddy....time often changes our interests, and sometimes the rat race does keep us from really having the time to enjoy more leisurely things...

Andy has two absolute favorite old pics, that we finally parted with, gave to him, simply because he got such a kick out of them...

The first is a close up pic taken of Doms grandmother, when she got off the boat at Ellis Island...the look of fear, and apprehension are evident in that pic...after all, she left all her family behind in Sicily, ,and was traveling with her firstborn child, a little girl...altho she was looking forward to living in American, still she must have missed her family back home, and was leary of awaited her in her new country...that picture of her, truly reflects that...

The second pic of a pic of Doms grandfather, and the grandfathers brother, back in Sicily, before they came to America...they are young gents, all duded up in suits of that time frame...When Andy first looked at that pic, all he could say, was that those two men, looked like 'Mafia' members for sure...and they do look like one would imagine 'Mafia' guys from the 1920s and 1930s would have looked like...

Hey Grannie that is only Idaho not Alaska...Doubt if it's a Malemute, more likely a Mutt....
Think February is a little early for a Spring thaw and I sure don't remember any details about that pic....
It does get a little depressing looking at the old pics though, everyone, but me are dead....

I think I'll rest the flatest part of me, and catch a little of the Perfect Storm up in the bed. I'll let it put me to sleep, so Al can fish all over the bed for the clicker when he comes up.. lol.

Have a good TV viewing and good sleep...watch that Al, when he comes in fishing around for the clicker, he may use that as an excuse to give you a few 'squeezes' in some of your important places...

I'm maybe halfway through the album, but goes up into the 40s when I got married etc....

Left to right..My cousin Ina, Uncle Dewey Carlson, Aunt Leona, Me, My Mom, Grandma Morrill, another cousin who's name I've forgotten...They are all dead, Ina died just this year....

Another great picture...

One of my cousins back in Chicago, ,was going through some of his pictures, of all us cousins on my moms side...there were seven of us...the pic shows us all out at Cedar Lake, outside of Chicago...we had all been swimming, and are all standing there in our bathing suits, and swim goggles, and some of the boys have their swim fins...my grandmother is also in the pic, proud of her brood of grandchildren...

That pic is so precious to me...because it shows all of us kids together, as when we were so young and happy together...

Now I am not as old as you Westy, but still three of those seven cousins are dead, as well as my grandmother...two of them died young, my brother at age 34, and my cousin Denise, also dead at age 34...and my cousin Jerry died in his late 40s...

I guess that is why that pic is so precious to me...simply because so many of them are now gone, and its just nostalgic to look at the pic, and relive some of the wild and good times we cousins all had together...

You look like you are sporting a tie, and OshGosh by Gosh, overalls...

Both my boys wore the OshGosh by Gosh overalls all the time, and they were my favorites for the kids...my favorite pictures of the boys, were the ones where they were wearing their farmer overalls...

I have no idea what kind of overalls they were...I probably had a preference at the time though.

Great pics - thanks for bringing them here Westy.

For whatever the reason, I truly do enjoy seeing family pictures. They do not bore or disinterest me...I like seeing our country's past.

Please keep posting those who went before me.
