Anne Robbins now lives in Midland, Texas. She's the widow of a career military man who was stationed in Roswell during the Roswell crash in July, 1947. She remembers the description of the saucer that her husband, Technical Sergeant Ernest Robert Robbins, told her he helped recover and the three small beings that were found outside the craft. Now 84 years old, Robbins has never before spoken publicly about Roswell, but she now says that what her late husband saw was not a downed weather balloon.

Seated in a meeting room at the Odessa Meteor Crater Museum, she said, "We had been to a dinner party at the NCO [non-commissioned officers] club on the base and didn't get home until 10:30 or 11. We'd already gone to bed but weren't yet asleep when everything outside lit up like it was daylight. It was like that for what seemed like several minutes, and we both assumed that it was probably helicopters from the base with searchlights on." Soon afterwards, her husband received a phone call and told her he had to report to the base. "I just assumed that there had been a plane crash somewhere nearby," she says. "But I couldn't figure why my husband, a sheet-metal man who repaired planes, was called in."

She was even more puzzled when he returned home the 18 hours later, with his uniform wrinkled and damp. "I asked him what had happened to him, why he was so wet, and he told me he'd had to go through the decontamination tank at the base. I asked, 'In your clothes?' and he said, 'They were what I was wearing when I was out there.' He told me, 'Well, I guess you might as well know; it's going to be in the papers. A UFO crashed outside of Roswell.'

"I told him he was crazy. 'No,' he replied, 'I'm not.' I don't remember him being particularly shocked or very emotional about it. In fact, he seemed cool as a cucumber. He just made it clear to me that he wasn't going to talk about it."

The following morning, she says, "I asked him again if it was really true and he said, yes, it was." When she asked what the UFO looked like, he explained that "if you took two saucers and put them together, that's what it looked like." On the top layer, there were oblong-shaped windows all the way around the craft. He had not looked inside. "I asked him if there was anybody on it. He said, 'I can tell you this much: There were three people. One was dead and two were still alive. I can't tell you anything more.'"

It was not until several days later that Sergeant Robbins finally agreed to drive his wife out to the crash site. By then, all debris had been cleared away. "He didn't say much of anything until we got to a place where there was this big burned spot, a perfect circle so black that it was shiny. No normal fire could have made something like that." It looked like the sand had been melted and turned into a sheet of black glass. "This," he said, "is where I was for 18 hours."

"On the drive home," she says, "I asked him what happened to the spaceship, what happened to the people who were on it. He said, 'I can't tell you that; don't ask me any more.'" That was the last time he ever spoke about it, until he retired from the Air Force in 1961. He died of a heart attack in January, 2000.

Following his retirement, the family moved to Saginaw, near Fort Worth, and he worked first for General Dynamics, then LTV, as an aircraft repairman. "It was years later, when our kids were in high school, that our son Ronald was working on some kind of report on unidentified flying objects and asked his father to tell him about what happened back in Roswell. He didn't say much, basically just what he'd told me years earlier," she says.

"But you know how kids are. Ronald kept asking questions, like what the men found at the crash looked like. Finally, Papa [as she called him] got a pencil and drew this pear-shaped head with large black eyes. Their skin, he said, was brown and they had no nose, no mouth. When Ronald asked him what their bodies looked like, all he would say was, 'Son, you don't want to know about that.'"

She says, "[Ronald] wouldn't talk to you about it…Barbara, my daughter, tells me, 'Daddy's dead, don't bring it up.'"

"All I remember," says their daughter, Barbara Wattlington, "was Dad saying he was stationed in Roswell and that a UFO crashed there."

The last time Anne Robbins remembers her husband talking about it was a few years before his death, when they sat in their Saginaw living room one evening, watching a show about Roswell on TV. "I asked him, 'Was it a hoax?' and all he said was, 'It's the truth. It did land.' I asked him, 'Well, if it did, where is it?' He again said he couldn't tell me that."

She says, "I could never figure out why an airplane repairman would be called out in the middle of the night to participate in the investigation of a crashed UFO." Only after filing her husband's death certificate with military officials in Washington, D.C., did she learn that he had intelligence clearance during his time in Roswell. "That UFO they found didn't just fly away, so where is it?" she says. "And what happened to the people on it? I still say the Air Force knows what happened. Someday, I hope, we might find out the truth."

Funny thing though - whenever I spend much time over a taste of smoky whisky, I get to ruminating about darker mysteries of space and time. Musings in the wee hours often bumps up against formless things that have substance and esoteric meanings at the time but their revelations are stolen in the harsher light of day.

Of course, finding my glasses and turning on the lights can be a big help too.

Okay, we disagree very, very strongly about this woman's credibility. Even if her story is proved to be a lie, an alien ship still could have crashed that night. Technically, I have to admit that, but to put it mildly, I'm more than a little skeptical.

I've always been curious about these things. I'm totally open-minded, neither believe nor disbelieve. I did a lot of reading about UFO's years ago, and I remember reading that some of the Astronots said that they SAW UFO's. Many airline pilots have seen UFO's????????

Airline pilots are subject to a government manual that instructs them quite specifically in reporting UFO sightings and can be fined relatively big bucks and imprisoned for failing to do so and for talking about such publically etc.

I MUST REALLY be preoccupied with church related craziness.

I really respect what Stephen has been doing. I've got his big book on the DISCLOSURE project.

The 400+ high quality and many high ranking scientists and government types of first hand witnesses--some with video, movie and hard object evidence--are an impressive bunch IMHO.

Some are waiting for Congressional immunity from prosecution before coming forward though they have posited testimony and evidence in diverse locations.

Others, though high ranking, scientifically trained and skilled and with reputations at risk, have gone on notorized record in support of the facts and DISCLOSURE to the public.

It mystifies me how anyone can seriously examine significant chunks of the DISCLOSURE PROJECT record and still pretend NOTHING HERE, WALK ON BY.

I think Greer--whether he's a government disinformation stoole or 100% authentic as presented--deserves a lot for bringing the subject forward as well and far as he has. He appears to be exactly who he says he is--a concerned physician who could no longer 'merely' treat patients when the biggest story of modern times could result in millions of unnecessary deaths unless he did what he could to bring about DISCLOSURE.

OK; this is where we part company. He lists Jimmy Carter as a great international leader; is against SDI, which all people who I respect (Frank Gaffney, and President Bush among them) support.

If these EFOs exist, it is a great leap of faith to believe they are here for our benefit.

No, I do NOT put my faith in ETs. My faith is in God. And I trust my president a lot more than this geeky looking Greer character.

I did NOT say I trusted him at all, much less tons in terms of his ultimate motivations, allegiances etc.

TO THE DEGREE HE CAN BE TAKEN AT FACE VALUE, I ADMIRE, RESPECT AND SUPPORT HIS EFFORTS in principle *TO* BRING ABOUT DISCLOSURE of the UFO phenomena.

I do NOT know whether or not if he's a government stoole setting the world up for one side of a DAMNED IF WE DO AND DAMNED IF WE DON'T double edged sword--wherein if we go with the notion that ET's are benign we are trapped and if we go with that they are evil we are trapped.

I don't know if he's an ignorant-of-the-Biblically predicted-global-government-tyranny stuff or not. He certainly, as you well and wisely point out, seems overly taken with a list of idiotic liberal nonsense.

I don't much doubt that the SDI stuff has always been mostly to deal with ET's in one scenario or another from one faction to another or some such.

I mostly don't doubt much that the puppet masters are in varying degrees of effective control of the USA, RUSSIA, CHINA and most everything else that matters in geopolitics. They just are arrogant enough to have convinced themselves that God doesn't exist--or--that satan will beat him in the final war. Thankfully, GOD could beat all of creation with a clipping from his little toenail--so to speak--or snuff it out with a flash of His eyelash.

I mostly believe that MOST of what transpires on the global scene is a charade, a dance manipulating the world populace toward global government tyranny. I believe the UFO phenomena--whatever it is--will be used of satan and the puppet masters toward their global government tyranny ends.

THANKFULLY, GOD HAS INFINITELY MORE SLEEVES AND MORE UP HIS SLEEVES than there are sub-atomic particles in all the forces of the enemy--so to speak.

But it's interesting to collect data, puzzle pieces and try and arrange them with prayerful discernment into something that makes more sense than something else. Perhaps thereby, there will be some clues to future events ahead of Clinton/Commie News Network et al.

I believe Greer is basically a well meaning, somewhat naive and far too liberal-numb-minded politically fellow trying to do the best he knows for the welfare of the world. He believes SDI will anger the ET's and result in much more devastation for the world etc. Given his frame of reference and his biases, I can allow him some mistakes for ignorance and lack of proper perspective.

If he's a willing government stooge, then God will have to deal with him and them.

I think Jimmy Carter is much better at working for Habitat for Humanity than he ever was or is at any pretend role as an international leader.

But Hey, GOD SAYS "Blessed are the peacemakers." I'm not about to stand in the way of God blessing the guy for that. I just wish he'd get off the world political stage and shut his flapping face. He's been quite destructive enough to the US OF A, ALREADY YET!

Do you think his witnesses are reliable?

Some of the stories are pretty wild. Not that they shouldn't be.

Who but God knows how many are reliable in all this.

Sometimes we may get a sense of confirmation in our spirits.

But personally, I try to find a wide diversity of sources saying essentially the same thing and even then I just treat it as probable to highly probably true. I'm not sure we'll know the absolute truth until Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom.

There's just toooooo much capacity for all kinds of governmental--secret, authentic, Constitutional and UN-Constitutional to spread DISINFORMATION far and wide and very skillfully.

Then there's satan who's had 1,000's of years to construct very carefully and methodically--with ET's and demonic forces in concert--all manner of deceptions. Humans could be witting and unwitting complicit supporters of such deceptions.

I don't know which side of what issues to put Greer and the whole DISCLOSURE PROJECT. But I'm glad to see someone having such seeming success in getting such seemingly well placed experts going on record at pulling all this into the public arena. And, I'm pleased that they are confirming things known first hand by my relatives and friends.

What will in fact ultimately prove to be absolute truth and what disinformation or delusion--remains to be seen.
