Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life. -- Proverbs 16:31
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. -- Isaiah 46:4
Happy Birthday !!

This is a post from a secret liberal plant at Freepers...right? Cause I can't believe any self respecting conservative would be soooo miserable about life...as a previous post said consider the alternative...and I say this having just celebrated 52 years. I find that I am about as happy as I let myself be

Hi 1smallVoice!
You have an exact birthday twin! My husband is 50 years old today, too. I hope you enjoy the movie tonight with your kids. I know they'll enjoy being with you today. My husband works away from home, so I won't get to be with him tonight.
You're not unimportant! All of us here need each other to help keep the conservative truth on the advance and to support each other when necessary. I'll be praying for you.

Cheer up! - It could be raining.
Nevermind.... It is raining.

And that's not even the worst part, 1smallVoice. I passed that mark last year and quickly realized that at 50 the warranty on your body expires, and like any car, house, etc. once that happens the parts always start to go bad...

I'm not going to take any cheap shots at you for feeling down on your half-century mark. Happens to a lot of people. The best advice I can give you is to talk to your family doctor. Your "blues" may be nothing worse than an internal chemical imbalance caused by, among other things, a changing body chemistry as you age.
The good news is that it can be treated easily and successfully, but you probably can't do it by yourself. Stop suffering. See your doctor. Talking to a clergyman would be a great idea too. You are NOT alone. God is sitting there right over your shoulder, and he's not going anyplace. You just have to do your part and be sure to thank him when He heals you (with the doctor's help).

I'll be 50 in July, and at this point it's all "patch, patch, patch".
But you want to really feel old? Go to Ebay and look at "Vintage Toys". I went there thinking these were going to be toys out of the 20's and 30's...not!. About 9/10th of them were the kind of toys I had played with at as a kid! Hoo-boy!

Birthday's suck because you get to see just how unimportant you really are. Although I've never tried it, being important is probably overated. My dogs love me all the same.

Today Robert Stack passed away, and I'm the only one in my department that remembers seeing him on television. But that's ok, it's all on the wheel. Years from now one of these young farts, now much older, will comment on Britney Spears and all the new young farts will say things like, "Who's that?", or "I remember my grandmother was a big fan of hers". Eventually, it all catches up with you...

AARP? That radical far-left-wing handout-loving organization? Shame on you, Joe.

Birthday's suck because you get to see just how unimportant you really are. Don't believe that for a second. You are precious in God's sight and in the hearts of those who are close to you. You turned 50 today, so think of ways today that you will make the next 50 years better for yourself and those around you than the last 50. Have a GREAT birthday; treat yourself to a special night out doing things you enjoy with friends or without.

AH, but I didn't send money to join! :-) but at 50, I was surprised that membership was open to me.

"Gloom, despair, and agony on me,
Deep dark depression, excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
Gloom, despair, and agony on me." or how bout this one.....
"Think I'll eat a tadpole, think I'll eat a bug
I've got some worms out in the garden, just recently dug
So if nobody loves me, and I don't get a hug,
I think I'll eat a tadpole or a bug. "
