You watch this?! LOL! Learn something new everyday. lol. I agree with your review of his Unchained Melody performance.
bump for later to read the Freeper reviews. I'm undecided. Clay has been consistently better than the other two, but only slightly. I love the velvet teddy bear Ruuuuuuben and I think Kimberly Locke has an amazing voice and an exceptional ability to make it do different things.
I didn't vote. Can't wait to see what happens tonight!

And I thought Unchained Melody put him in the winner's circle next week. He made it HIS....rather than just singing the traditional rendition.
Fingers and toes and legs and eyes crossed!

Unchained Melody is my favorite song....the arrangement was too fast, but Clay pulled it off.....Go Clay.

I'm telling ya, Clay's got it locked up.
The sheer number of young white cell phone owners versus the number of young black cell phone users makes this no contest. Then, you have to factor in there were NBA playoff games on at the same time the show was on in all three time zones. That means the number of young black viewers was lower than it otherwise would've been.
I double-dog guarantee that Reuben and Kimberly are in the bottom 2 and it doesn't really matter which one gets voted off the island because the same scenario awaits the survivor next week.
As Simon Cowell would say, "Sorry. That's just the way it it."
To: Howlin
I noticed that and appreciate it. I'll check last night's other thread.

But I always use a landline to vote and I expect that most other folks do as well.

Oh, good!
I'm sorry, but Kim and Reuben just sound so "normal" to me.
My husband has a band and has been in one for YEARS here in North Carolina and HE can sing as well as Reuben!

hahaha, when you commented about black vs white cell phone users I had a very racist thought, so I won't post it. But I am not sure your idea is necessarily true. Now, black vs white people with cell phones and watching tv and voting... you might have it right.

Are you watching the east coast feed? Tell us what's going on during commericals.

Personally, I don't think he was ever that good. The guy sings every song in exactly the same bland, vacant-smile, manner. His voice is often thin, scratchy and flattens out on upper notes. He compensates by singing those notes louder. His range (both the material he can sing reasonably well and the octaves he can reach) are quite limited. He is essentially a rather ordinary ryhthm singer. To top it off, he has all the speaking ability of a wet noodle. His smile and dimple are charming, but if there's anyone home behind the smile, he hasn't really shown it yet.
Come to think of it, he's a perfect fit for today's bubble-headed pop culture. I'm sure he'll be a big (no pun intended) star.

FJAG's puter is in a different room from her TV (as is mine). Hoping she'll log on during commercials and give us the buzz.

Too me, all of Rueben's songs sound the same...he is not versatile.

As Simon said on one show... he needs to break out of the Barry White mode.
