ok so I am in the package store ready to pay for my stuff. There was no one in the store at this time except two workers. While I was waiting to pay, a young worker came in. She had that, liberal, yes I am educated look about her. In any event she came in and approached the co-worker were I was standing. The closer she came I notice she had on a T-shirt advertising French wines. The co-worker went nuts on her. She started yelling at her saying "how could you walk in here to work with that shirt on"! She started talking about how much buissness the package store is losing on French wines and the whole boycott thing. The educated seemed quite proud of her T-shirt. Finally the other worker looked at her and send when we start laying off because of lack of buissness we will make sure you are the first to go.
First I was sincerely shocked that the whole frent thing had hit my area of the world. Second I felt bad for the workers as they feared losing their jobs over this boycott thing. It was a very strange feeling I must admit. The only thing that made me feel good was the resentment these workers had for the "educated one"

I am confused. First, please type more slowly so that your post is more readable. Second -- if people in CT are drinking less french wine, I think that is good. But are they drinking less alcohol? Why??? I fail to see why employees at a package store in CT would fear layoffs based upon a boycott of wine coming from a third-world country.

One theory would be that they are selling lower margin product instead. Another would be that some snooty wine drinkers just won't drink anything else.
