I saw on a TV Science show some expert showing an image such as yours and then stating that the inner and outer stars rotate around the center of the galaxy at the same speed.
Then he made the statement that the DARK MATTER was somehow the cause of this apparent contradiction. I did not understand how this conclusion was arrived at. Would you care to shed some of your starlight on this for us?
