Our Texas Locale page recently got very busy on the unusual topic of Ouija boards and such. Archy suggested a Lone Star Thread That Will Not Die. Like those darn Hobbit threads with 30,000+ posts.
This is not my thread and I'm not going to baby sit it every day. I just gathered the kindling and y'all have to start the fire.
TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: banglist; borad; chat; humidity; ouijibored; stiflingheat; texas

Ok, thanks. I don't know if this is normal or not. I heard someone else upset yesterday about the same thing but he was in another state.

I think it does take 60 days but I don't know why they would take an additional 120. If it were me, I think I would want answers from the DPS before I called out the heavy artillery. It would depend on how you were told it would take an additional 120. If that doesn't work, try the TSRA or your state representative. Good luck.

Darn, my husband is out of town for a few days or I could ask him. He got one several years ago, but I don't remember how long it took.

I received mine in August. It took them about 60 days to do the backgroud check on me. However, I work for the government
in a hospital and when employed a backgroud check was done then. They already had most of the info on me that they needed.

It took 60 days for me to get mine.
How were you informed that it would take an additional 120 days?? This is important.
There is a link on the TexDOT website to check status. Let me know if you have trouble finding the link.

Huh! Slow permits in Texas amaze me! Up here in WA, up until last year it was issued over the counter while we waited... Now they have a mental health check that takes a few days... but I still got it within a week, along with a nice letter from the sheriff!

You don't want to know how much it costs for a new applicant.
The renewal alone costs 70 dollars.
I called my state rep and all she said was while Texas is having a budget crisis, they won't consider a drop in the price.

By letter. We called. The clerk was actually very nice. My DH was arrested for something and the charges dropped when he was 30 years younger. She told him she didn't see a problem and that they just wanted to make sure he hadn't received a felony. Never thought I would say anything nice about the Feds but they were able to check this out in 15 minutes. I mailed mine July the 7th. I show up on the board as approved today. Have to see how long it takes to mail now.

What's all this nonsense about felonies, child support, and taxes anyway. It's like be a good girl and we will let you have what is rightfully yours anyway. After a person serves their time the felony should be dropped and not held against them. If someone is a gun risk they shouldn't be released to begin with IMO.
To: All
yea.
Just checked the mail, and it's here. I need a re-take though. The picture could have been better lol
To: CindyDawg
Priceless!
That's about it. We use too much money and then I figured out that this may be only babysteps to our Rights.
I wonder if an ex-slave thought it was a miracle that they only had to pay for a poll tax and then be able to vote. I'll bet they were amazed they had come so far.

This is a bunch of bull!
(Less than 10 percent of guns are owned by women.)
Their implication is wrong. Men may BUY them -for us!!
To: potlatch
The entire article is skewed but unfortunately there are people who will believe every word of it.
To: potlatch
Besides, in Texas (by law) half of them belong to us anyway :')
