In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Do you have a word you'd like to see used? Freepmail me, and if it has not been used in a while, I will add it to our list.
Do you have a birthday coming up? Please FReepmail me with the date and I will make a special birthday thread for you!

What? Only 8 AM and I've already missed a birthday party??
This plebian rant falls under the "No, it's not from the Onion" category. Like the recent op-ed by Norman Mailer, it's a truly scary example of what happens when aging novelists forget to take their Thorazine.

Yes, yes, it's "plebeian."
I know that.(And, yes, Robert, I'm still talking to myself. Someone has to.)
To: Bella_Bru
Hobbes will respond plebian
But a union
here they need to attain
These models get cold
And a pose do hold
There are no benefits to be seen.

Who is this idiot that insists that those Iraqi children were not liberated from prison in her name (she's right about that much anyway)?
To: Cyber Liberty
That is weird. Wonder what's going on with that.

She's a very successful and extremely untalented novelist. I was given the task of reading one of her books in a college English lit class, and never made it past chapter two. At that point, I gave up and managed to concoct a five-page essay on her work from what I got out of reading the dust jacket. I've held a grudge against that gal ever since.

Hoping GW does the brilliant thing and selects Condi as his running mate in '04. Can still keep Cheney in the kitchen cabinet. Condi for Prez in '08! Buhbye Hillary.

Thanks for the congrats, Gabz. Anything left in that 55 gallon drum?
Let's see, three beautiful ladies, clothed only in birthday chapeaus, inebriated.....I think this situation may require the assistance of a few friends.

She's a dead ringer for Iris Murdoch. Who's also barely readable, by the way.

If I light all the candles, algore will probably devote an entire chapter to me in his next book on global warming.
Did he invent global warming or books.....I forget, he's such an amazing guy.

So Hobbster, does the professor have any chance of taking back the class after your sterling performance in her absence or have you essentially ruined her career, at least in the minds of your classmates?
And I know you'll be humble in your response.
