Just a little while ago, on FoxNews, one of the reporters in the
studio wished a "Happy Easter" to another reporter in the field.
The reporter in the field replied,
"I'm an Orthodox Christian and we do not celebrate until next week".
What the heck is up with that?

It's one of the things that distinguishes the Eastern Orthodox churches from the Western (Catholic, Protestant) ones. Their Easter always comes after Catholic/Protestant Easter, but each year it varies by the number of weeks after. This year it's only one week after.

What the heck is up with that? Indeed.

What is up with that? What ever happened to saying, "Thank you and the same to you"? The in studio reporter was trying to be nice and got a verbal slap in return. What is wrong with saying thank you? What makes people think that the customs and beliefs of their particular religion should be common knowledge and they should never be wished a happy holiday unless it is in line with their particular beliefs?
This is where all the stupid Happy Holidays stuff comes from you know. Everyone expects to be catered to. And so the rest of us have to find some way to accommodate them because we really dont feel like getting in a fight every time some super sensitive type comes across our path.
So maybe next time we wont try to be nice at all. Why should we?

And now I will quit channeling Dennis Miller and go take the lamb out of the oven. Happy Whatever! And if that offends anybody go read Psalm 119:165.
