"Letting your 20 something year old daughter travel across the country to visit a boyfriend is absurd. You can bet that about 90% of overnight visits by young adults involves sex."
LOL. Just how you going to stop an ADULT from traveling cross country to visit a boyfriend. You act as if you have a say in the matter. Life in your house must be like a Nazi concentration camp.

Trying to prvent this will only lead to further disaster. Not true. Government needs to control this! :P

I'm confused about this whole "letting your 20 year old daughter..." thing. By 20 she can vote, move out of your house, incur debt, join the military, get a passport, go to a country where the drinking age is below 20, and pretty much whatever else they want. They are adults. You can advise adults, you can tell them you're disappointed in their decisions, you can even disown them, but "let" and it's converse "forbid" aren't in the possibility list.
As for dating, what we're supposed to go back to arranged marriages?! That's not happening.

'Typical man'
What utter crap. I've seen you have already been beat up over this, but I'd like to pile on. The typical men I know are married have great kids and take care of their family. My 'typical man' father has been married to my "typical women" mother for over 50 years.
My typical man brotherinlaw, his girlfriend got pregnany sic. Guess what that typical man did? He married her and they now have more kids. Matter of fact, I don't know any typical men like you describe, however I am sure there are a few bad apples, I keep seeing them talked about here and there and on Trash-tv. You'd better find some better company.

you must be a ball at parties... if your religious convictions allowed you to attend them.

i can't believe this melodramatic, idiotic article. let's call a spade a spade. your friend's daughter was a trollop who was obviously a moron because she didn't use protection. to place the blame on a "typical male" is really just scraping at the bottom of the barrel. quit making excuses for this girl's stupid decision, and the immature way she wanted to handle her pregnancy.
and to think parents can control a woman in her 20's?? Get with the times!! That's just laughable!

I think male abandonment of sired children is a bigger issue than men "forcing" women to have abortions.

Never, never, as long as your daughter lives under your roof, ever let your daughter spend the night with a boyfriend. IF she thinks this is silly and does not abide by it, show her the door.
Still living at home in her 20s....how responsible.

"The aborted fetus survived and is now a New York senator."
I have to say that is really, really disgusting, amusing but disgusting all rolled into one ball of wax...but back to the point....How does one have an aboriton that does not take???? It seems to me that when you have an abortion it seems it has to "take".

Life in your house must be like a Nazi concentration camp. No wonder her daughter wanted to screw her boyfriend.
She's sick and tired of getting screwed by her mother!

Society is teaching girls its ok to be sluts, per MTV, Fox television, Cosmo, Glamour, etc.
The bombardment happens everyday from school, to tv, to grocery story check out lines. Its incredibly hard for a parent to compete with those kind of stimulations.
Get the sack out and sew your friends daughter into it.
And stop hating men.

That's a pretty sexist statement. Most men do care about their children and do take on the responsibility of fatherhood.

I have to respond to this. I am speaking from experience here. My daughter became a 17 year old unwed teenage mother. Even though she had been taught the truth regarding abortion and the lie regarding the "fetus", she too in a panicked moment thought abortion was the answer. After all, this allowed her to "solve" the problem quickly.
I had to rely on what I had taught her and pray to the Lord that he would change her heart and trust what she knew was right. I stood by her and knew it was not my decision to make for her.
After a lot of painfully daunting days and countless sleepless nights, she in the end made the right choice without pressure from me or her father.
I thank god for my granddaughter and her mother decision to keep her even though it was the hardest choice to make.
In the end, an adult has to make decisions after guidance and prayer of their parents. At age twenty it is more than time to let them rely on the input they have been given.
Trying to control a grownup is a big mistake. It is also a mistake to even think it is possible in the long run.
Blessings come out of all things. My grandbaby is the biggest blessing in the world to me, but more importantly she has become even more of one to my daughter. She is in fact the best thing that ever happened to her.

Don't get married, no, no ,no...not in America, it is just another way of screwing yourself in the future. Only get married in a foriegn nation so you can trade out of the relationship by giving the brides father a cow, two goats and a chicken... Stay single, stay young, stay free.

First of all, I don't think dating got her pregnant...I think having sex did. Second, after having been raised by such fine parents, the only explanation is that the daughter is truly evil, or she is possessed by demon spawns of satan.
