For the record, this is NOT an Opus. Just an Opus in training . . .

Back in 1998 I joined FR as CitizenX. By the year 2000 I had to abandon that screen name because self-search was no longer useable. There were more entries for Citizen and CitizenX7 than for me! At the time I told FReepers that CitizenX's penchant for using BOLD TYPE caused him to run out of pixels.

I thought for a while and came up with the screen name of Mr_Magoo. Truth is I decided on that name the day I realized my eyeglass perscription was out of date. This worked well until recently. Lately, I have FReepers confusing me with someone named Mister Magoo.

(sigh)

Here we go again!

I decided today to kill off Magoo to end the confusion. JimRob was kind enough to rename my CitizenX account to Petruchio.

Why Petruchio?

Simple, do a google on it and Shakespeare. If you knew my ex you would instantly understand!

This time I hope my screen name stays unique.

I'm not sure what changing Citizenx or Citizenx7 to Petruchio has to do with Magoo. Maybe you can explain.

I reviewed the Freeper profile list today and noticed Magoo was not present. Notice that I have been a member since 9-1-01.

Notice that I am Magoo, not Mr. Magoo or Hans Blix for that matter ; )

Maybe you can explain why my profile is gone, yet my account stays active?

About your question... If you don't have a very unique name, the self-search function brings up other people's replies -- people who have a similar name.

If you flash 'em, I think you might have better luck with the "or something".

The only thing I can think of is to have Jim delete the NuPress account and change the name on the NuPrez account to NuPress.

But, that is lible to take a lot of flashin'!

Somehow I feel responsible for this vanity and why it came about. Wasn't I the one who pinged you as to the *other* Mr. Magoo? But didn't you have FR posting seniority, for pete's sake?! ;-)
