NY radio station Lite FM is proudly playing the Dixie Chicks. According to their Program manager they have a right to play whatever they want, and us Freepers have a right to flood the phone lines with complaints. So call early and call often. (212) 603-4600 or go the website and e-mail them.

This does not belong in breaking news, at this time.

106.7 Lite FM - New York is WLTW, New York and owned by Clear Channel. Perhaps a well-placed note to Clear Channel management would help...

Yeah, but consider that this is NYC's idea of a "cowboy," among others:

If you really want to get their attention, find out who the show's sponsors are and contact them.

This station probably has a northeastern liberal soccer mom demographic. They aren't the Dixie Chicks' primary audience. If NYC is the only place the Dixie Chicks can sell themselves, then they are done. They don't even have a real full-time country station in NYC.

WYCD in Detroit also continues to play Dixie Chicks and will not reply to my numerous complaints by phone and email. Contact info: email form at wycd.com or (248) 799-0600. Local media says there hasn't been enough complaints for the station to consider pulling the Chicks.

Long Island does not have a country music station and very few country artists perform here due to that reason. Clint Black cancalled a concert at Westbury about a year ago if I am remembering correctly.

Just wait till the corporate honchos down a Clear Channel hear about this. They will grind the management of 106.6 Lite FM into the dust, all to serve their master, George W. Bush. The coordinated conspiracy to support the President will not bear any dissent.

Look for 106.7 Lite FM to be playing heavy metal with an evening stint by Michael Savage by the end of the week.

As another country singer so eloquently put it, "here's a quarter. Call someone who cares."

On the flip side you can do something to support our troops.

Mike Gallagher is sponsoring a concert in Greenville/Spartan NC on May 1st.

The headliner is "The Marshall Tucker Band" and several other up & coming country groups.

This concert is being held the same time/night as the Blixie Chix concert in the same town.

Also, they've set it up where if you'd like to "sponsor" a military family, you can buy tickets to the concert and then in a couple of days, they will have set up an address where you can send the tickets to, and they will give them to mitlitary families so they can attend the concert on your behalf.

He's is also taking donations for "Feed the Children" and are setting up trucks to deliver food/personal hygiene supplies to families at military bases too.

I'm sure you can get all the details at the Mike Gallagher Show website: http://www.mikeonline.com

Usual disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the show, concert or anything to do with this. I am an active listener of Mike's show, and want to help him sell it out.
