My family had a lot of history with this barber shop. Jay Dutey cut my grandfather's hair, my father's hair and my uncles's hair. My brother and I have been regular customers most of our lives. I will miss the old pictures and drawings that plastered the wall and the radio palying the Classic Country music that made the atmosphere pleasant and fun. I will miss Jay who shared war stories with me, gave me advice about girls and would give jars of almonds and bags of peaches to his customers. I will miss Paul who gave lolipops and gumballs to kids who sat still and who once loaned 200 dollars to a complete stranger and held on to her watch for six months until she paid him back (I was there when it happened.) It will feel weird going to other barbers because Jay and Paul were like family to me.
