Have not heard any reports but would like to know how they are performing in the desert.

Anyone know or have links?

Thanks!

Keep the ejector cover closed, a mag in the magwell, a condom over the muzzle, and you'll do just fine! :-).

From my experience I never trusted the M-16, however the M-4 is more reliable, doesn't jam. The sand however is havoc to any weapon. I just got a new weapon yesterday, the Charleville 1777 Corrige' AN IX Flintlock .69cal...I reenact Revolutionary style :)

No news is good news methinks.

I personally have been to NTC in Death Valley 3 times and to Kuwait for 4 months. I didn't have any problems so long as it was clean.

If there were problems don't you think tom/peter/dan would devote the first hour of their 1/2 hour show to it?

No problems with this "Point and Click" technology.

In a short range battle such as a city, the M4 will do just fine. However for anything over 100 yards, the velocity of the .223 round coming out of the short M4 won't be high enough for the round to be as effective (yawing action as bullet goes through flesh) as the longer M16. At longer ranges, the M4 round will simply punch through leaving a tiny wound that won't neccessarily disable a combatant unless it hits a vital organ.

Most of the rifles I have seen our soldiers use were M16's.

You're right on - if you really want to look at it, the fact that the media has so much trouble finding valid gripes tells you how good it's really going.
