Can anyone advise me on the extent to which Muslims will go to blend into their their local surroundings? Cultural distinctives are sometimes hard to distinguish from suspicious activities.
The activities at one home in my neighbourhood strike me as extremely peculiar. The neighbourhood is comprised entirely of single family suburban homes, yet in over a year, I have not seen a single female or child associated with this home. What I have seen is numerous twenty-something to fourty-something middle-eastern males: anywhere between two and twenty of them. (online real estate tax records show ownership to a person with a certifiably arabic surname) This home seems to be, more than anything else, a clubhouse.
The men frequenting the house are quiet and self contained. Often, several of these men can be seen chatting around the pool table in the garage. Other times, there's no indication anyone is even home, except for the dozen or more cars parked outside. On at least one occasion, during a particularly large gathering I saw what appeared, for all intents and purposes, to be a lookout stationed in the front yard.
I would have called the FBI by now to at least make them aware of the out-of-place character of these 'residents' except for one thing, and this is the rub: a three-foot, prominently lit, statue of the Virgin Mary in the garden out front!
So if any Freeper has an informed opinion, I'd like to hear it. Am I looking at middle-eastern good-ol'-boys, or Islamic camouflage.
At least if you call it in, you can blame it on that agency. Call it in, and follow it with a letter of which you keep a copy. That way, when no one at FBI follows up and something happens, you have a story w/ a picture of the letter to sell to a news agency and pay off your credit card bills.
VMary is likely a red herring. I heard that the FBI has advised that they would expect vans with explosives to have US flags, etc on the outside.
Mossad should drive by this address with a remote control, just to be sure. If the house goes BOOM, you'll have your answer.

Keyword alert! Besides, it may look like a Virgin Mary to you, but to them, she's just the neighborhood Fatima.
I would call the FBI, since this activity does fit a suspicious pattern. FWIW, although the statue is not SOP, Muslims do believe in the Virgin Mary, and she is especially revered among Carribbean and Latino groups, some of which have a hodge-podge of religious beliefs. It doesn't prove, or disprove, anything. Let the FBI be the judge.
