Well, I've given peas a chance, and pizza chance, so I may as well try to do the same for piece.

Not surprisingly, Dave H. has left the friendly, patriotic state of WV and lives in Sacramento as an advocate for the mentally ill.

You're right, not surprising at all (Sacramento Dave).

Did you see the thread where protestors on Van Ness in San Fran were defecating en masse in the street? Now that's what I call coordination.

ROTF!

I survived the school field trip today with nothing worse happening than me coming down with a headache. (Why do children scream while going through tunnels?)

There's some protest in NYC this weekend, they're going to protest in their undies. The organizer says in the info "Come to such-and-such a place dressed, we'll undress down to our undies, and march for peace." Do these people realize how foolish they look and sound?

From a booklist I am on (there is a HUGE flame war going on over the war, and the "peaceniks" are the meanest ones there.)

I'm sad and embarassed to be an American right now--I don't think our country is doing anything to be proud of.

And I get so irritated when people say it is unpatriotic to disagree with the administration or that I am not supporting our troops by protesting. I support our troops--I totally support their right to be home with their families where they belong.

(Name withheld)
New York

A further screed:

(statement made by the poor lone conservative) Interestingly enough. not one of those people (troops) in this war are forced to be where they are today.. They chose to be in the military to fight for the American way..

(Response from a librarian who reads 'Heather has two mommies' to kindergarten kids without their parents' permission) Actually that's not really true. When the economy is bad, many people join the military for the salary. A good number of the people who are currently enlisted joined during a time of peace thinking they would serve their time keeping peace. Do you think all of the National Guards thought they'd end up in Iraq? Do you think all of those families where BOTH parents are currenly in Iraq thought they'd both be called upon to abandon their children when they need them most? What about the soldier who had to choose between joining his troop and staying home with his infant son who needed a heart transplant?

I admire them all for sticking to their committments and I pray for their safety daily, but I think it is naive to think they all joined out of a sense of duty. I know a young man who has a wife and three kids, and is so desperate for a job right now that he is exploring all avenues of the military. Not out of love of country but out of love of his family.

I'm glad you can live with their actions and be proud of it. YOu must be sleeping a whole lot easier than I am these days. I can't support a government that engages in a illegal and unjust war because we are big enough to do it. What we are doing in Iraq is wrong. And I am ashamed to live in a country that is part of it.

*************************

And then there's a whole bunch of emails, just having heart palpitations that anyone would mention "the American way." I can't seem to unsubscribe from this list, and certainly do not intend to join in, although I should help out the poor conservative.

Still trying to sort out the news stuff. There is just so much conflicting information.

That's pretty nasty stuff, let me give you the flip side. These are people who support the war....

************************************************************

This is a post about the father who's son died in a chopper in Iraq who blamed Bush....

These people are human feces. No doubt they are having incredible grief, but to lash out at the commander in chief, legitimizing protests, is beyond sickening and shows no respect for the people alive fighting for this country.

President Bush, arrest and execute these people.

*************************************************************

Another loving post..........

And ten bucks says Daddy loves The "Reverend" Jackson, Calypso Louie and Malcom X. But Daddy is seething with race hatred, underneath it all.

**********************************************************

Both those posts came from Free Republic. Stupidity, racism, and hate are on both sides.

Yeah, I started reading that thread last night, and I had to leave it. Give the man a pass, he's lost his son. Better yet, people should write to the father and express sympathy and thanks for his son's love of our country, and his ultimate sacrifice.

God bless the Saddam Face Beater Man. This is something that would have meant certain death only 4 days ago.

Your comment about Campbell Brown just gave me the first good laugh of the day!

Looks like the various cancellations, uncertainties, etc., for the Academy Awards have everyone in a tizzy. These people really need to get some perspective.

"Oh my God! Tom isn't going?" shrieked one power publicist, whose client is an A-list presenter at the show, when we informed her of the news. "This changes everything." Those said to be "on the fence" include Harrison Ford, Cameron Diaz, Renée Zellweger, Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman. Insiders say they're still hoping the academy will cancel, so they won't be singled out. ...

My clothes are stuck in London," one fashion publicist wailed to us. "Italian and English designers are going to be [bleep]ed because no one can get the clothes flown in." Ever since the bombs started falling, celebrities have scaled down on their excessive ensembles. Halle Berry announced yesterday she would be wearing something that would reflect an homage to the troops, and spies tell PAGE SIX Queen Latifah has foregone her Bradley Bayou gown for a "rather large" pantsuit [meow!]. ...The stars, extra-jittery over concerns about terrorism, have been shrieking for armored limos to ferry them to and from the event.

Oh my, we'll just have to soldier on, with or without Will Smith.

I think "the stars" are pulling out because they are afraid they'll be a terrorist target.

He'll be playing with Tiger this afternoon so he'll be contending with those huge galleries through every hole...he says he doesn't even notice. In contrast, this morning I'm going to a first Tball game for a 5 yr. old.,,always fun and funny. Add to the mix SnA on TV and it's goint to be a busy day!

Your librarian misses the point. Regardless of what motivated men and women to join the military, they have the responsibility to know they are joining a fighting force, even in peace time and that they can be called to battle at any time.

Once again, her response is typical of the left - abbrogation of personal responsibility. Personal choices have consequences. Liberals don't like consequences so in their moral relativism, they are able to overlook them. Of course, this leads to their own version of "magical thinking" because we know that consequences, even when ignored, still exist.

Sorry for the philosophical rant, but these liberals live in lala land and then when consequences come, they seek to switch the blame to anyone/anything else because they don't want to face up to their own choices. Arrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhh!
