Wow, this attack is awesome. May God protect our troops.

This attack is spectacular. When it started a few minutes ago with all the lights and noise, I thought 'this is what it must have been like when Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner.'

I've posted this info a couple other places, but I just have to repeat it, as it represents (in my opinion) a blatant example of media bias.
This afternoon, CNN's Wolf Blitzer interviewed at length a so-called journalist on the scene in Bagdhad, one May Ying Welsh by name. A simple google search reveals that she is affiliated with Ramsey Clark's International Action Center, Not in Our Name and other Communist front organizations.
This may explain why, instead of simply describing what was happening, she was railing angrily about how many civilians would die and claiming that the U.S. hadn't hit any Iraqi govt. buildings of significance. She even implied that no govt. officials even were there, just low-level people and "cleaners," i.e., the night janitor! Needless to say, Wolfie didn't mention her obvious bias, just presented her report as fact.

Nice detecting there M - dang, I wish you could get Fox.
From what I'm reading, NBC is doing a much better than expected job of it.
Cheers.

You don't get Fox? Bummer. However, I don't think their war coverage is particularly clever. I do prefer to listen to them over CNN, but CNN does a better job of integrating what's going on. Nobody flame me, 'k?

Alas, no Fox News, so I watch one of the others until I get aggravated, and then switch to another, until I get aggravated ...

Say, did you happen to catch the Ari news conference? What was with those idiot reporters trying to nail down whether Bush watched the air campaign begin? Who CARES?
I know they're just trying to insinuate he's either out of the loop because he's too stupid or because he wants to 'minimize his association with the war' to quote that chump Bill Plant, or that he's not feeling the innocent Iraqi peoples' pain.
It is another example of media bias. I hate these people.

I finally caught your Bare Eccentuals (sp?) video today - it was sometime this morning - don't ask me when or on what channel. I've been up all night - couldn't go to sleep and so am a little slow on the neuronal firing right now.

Oh my, the media hair-dos just couldn't contain their amazement that Dubya wasn't glued to CNN watching the big bombs go boom, as if he was tuned to Jerry Springer instead. I doubt they can grasp quite how "in touch" he is with Gen. Franks, et al., that he knows what's going on and doesn't need pretty pictures to explain it to him.

On the shore dimly seen throughout the mists of the deep
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes
What is that which the breeze o'er the towering steep
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream.
`Tis the Star-Spangled Banner, Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so hauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and country, shall leave us no more?
Their blood was washed out their foul foot steps pollution
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave.
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh thus be it e'er when free men shall stand
Between their lov'd homes and war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that has made and presrv'd us a nation
And conquer we must when our cause is just
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
